FilmFest by Rogue Dancer is a DANCE film festival that offers a monthly curated on-line screening exclusively for DANCE Films. Each month Dance films are elegantly sorted into unexpected themes. We are committed to serving the DANCE community and to ensuring that wonderful DANCE movie projects from across the globe can be seen and appreciated by as wide an audience as possible.

o DANCE FILM (verb /dæns/ noun /fɪlm/) synonymous with Dance on Film, Dance on Screen, Screen Dance, ScreenDance, Video Dance, Dance Cinema… etc. you get the picture.

We want CHOREOGRAPHERS & DANCERS to be household names. FilmFest by Rogue Dancer is a unique online platform for DANCE Film only.

DANCE should be seen, appreciated and have developed audiences that exist outside the DANCE world. FILM is the way to do this. We want to peek curiosities and drive audiences to all the incredible performances that exist in the greater world. The universe should know the work that has been made throughout the ages and what we know, as dancers, has been going on in the DANCE Studio all along.

We have bigger goals than creating a DANCE Film Festival. Any filmmaker who submits to FilmFest by Rogue Dancer is agreeing to become part of our DANCE Film ARCHIVE, and future Rogue Dancer and sister events. More on that as we grow…

This is how it will work… The curatorial theme will change from month to month.

2 hours of content will be selected EVERY MONTH! The last week of each month, Rogue Dancer Productions will SHARE a link to the monthly DANCE SHOWCASE on the website and all social media platforms. That LINK will be available to you to SHARE on all of your platforms.

***At the end of the festival period the SHOWCASE will be removed. Your films will no longer be available to the public but will become part of the RD Archive.  Rogue Dancer will always communicate with the filmmakers if we choose to screen your DANCE films. You will always have the option to withdraw.***
(If your film is not selected right away, don’t fret we will hold onto it, in the Rogue Dancer Archive, for potential use in future Events).

***Please NOTE: We want you to know that we will be selecting films every month. Our notification date in the FilmFreeway settings is Dec 31st, 2023. If you don't hear from us by then, you will hear from us during the month and themes you have been selected for

Who can enter FilmFest by Rogue Dancer:
Anyone wanting to submit a film to the FilmFest by Rogue Dancer will need to consider the following guidelines. Your film submission must be a DANCE film.

All CHOREOGRAPHY created with the CAMERA in MIND are encouraged to SUBMIT. Looking for Microfilms, Shorts, Animation and Feature length DANCE FILM of all genre, date and culture.

Film Festival Submission Costs –
We know that submission costs can be a real deterrent for getting your DANCE FILMS out there. We are keeping COSTS LOW so you have the opportunity to share all of your work (new & old, big & small, any budget).
