Section 1
In partnership with "La Boîte à Son et Image" which organizes the Short Film Festival of Senlis, the association L'Art en chemin awards several prizes to animated films on the theme "Curious !", in a international competition reserved for animated short films.
Section 2
THE FESTIVAL IS OPEN TO FILM OR AUDIOVISUAL STUDENTS, FIRST TIME FILMAKER AND AMATEURS.
Can register:
- Students in audiovisual or cinéma
- Video clubs
- Associative productions
- School workshops
- Amateurs
Only productions in French or french subtitled will be considered.
Section 3
Duration of the films cannot exceed 7 minutes (credits included).
Films must be made after January 1, 2023.
Each director can present several films. If several films by the same director pass the pre-selection, only one will be presented to the jury.
Section 4
All styles of films are accepted as long as they relate to the animation technique, and that they are related to the theme "Curious !".
The films must be all public.
Section 5
- Film formats:
Films in selections can reach us in mp4, mov.
For the projection, dcp format (for directors who do not have one, we will take care of creating one).
- Sending films:
The films should preferably be sent via Filmfreeway (present platform), or via "we transfer" or a mandatory download with password on a dedicated platform (YouTube, Vimeo...).
Must be included in the shipment:
1- The title of the film, the name of the director and/or the person in charge of submitting the film, as well as the download link.
2- The rules and registration form are also to be sent as an attachment to the email.
Mandatory:
3- A technical sheet with synopsis, filmography and/or CV of the director.
4- Royalty-free visuals of the film for promotion on the internet.
5- Posters, photos, teasers will be requested as part of a meeting with the directors organized by the association.
6- There is no registration fee.

Section 6
Promotion and distribution
The directors assign the rights for the distribution of excerpts in order to promote the festival on the website and for the teaser presentation of the festival.
In agreement with the directors, the films may be shown outside the framework of the festival for events of our partners.
No commercial use will be made and each broadcast will be controlled by L'Art en Chemin.
Directors formally authorise L'Art en chemin to screen their films in public for the purposes of the competition.
Directors formally guarantee that their films are free of rights including for any musical extracts.
Section 7
Film compliance control with the present rules.
The preselection committee composed of L'Art en chemin members will check that the films comply with the present regulation.
Section 8
Awards presented
- One award for the film "Audience Award",
- Four awards for "L'Art en Chemin Awards", one for the French film, one for foreign language film, one for the "Hauts-de-France region production" and one for an animation film school.
Section 9
Movie selection 1: "Prix du public"
Inhabitants of four villages of Oise area will vote for their favorite movies during screening presentation evening organized in May, June and July. They have to make their votes from a pre selection L'Art en Chemin. The 3 preferred films will be submitted in a final screening at Cinema Jeanne d'Arc coming September 12th. The vote of the audience will determine the "Prix du public".
Movie selection 2 : "Prix de L'Art en Chemin"
A jury composed of members of L'Art en chemin and selected artists is appointed and is in charged of selecting and voting for the winners of L'Art en chemin awards.
Votes for the following four categories :
- French film
- Foreign film
- Movie School
- Hauts de France region
After the screening and the vote of the "Prix du public", will follow the screening and the announcement of the winners of the L'Art en chemin awards
Selection criteria:
• The proximity of the work to the theme, “Curious”
• Artistic originality
• The quality of the script
• Animation technique
• Sound and music
The president of the jury reserves the right to select a favorite film, in case of tie of vote.
Section 10
Festival Attendance:
Directors, technicians, and representatives are strongly encouraged to present their films during the screenings. As L'Art en Chemin is a non-profit organization, they are responsible for their own expenses. However, an online presentation with the award winners is possible.
The practical details of your visit will be provided when the list of films selected for the evening is published. Any absent award winner can be contacted via videoconference or telephone.
Section 11
The participant accepts these rules without reservation.
