Bases para la participación en la SECCIÓN GENERAL del 8º FICNOVA 2026
* PLAZO DE INSCRIPCIÓN DE PELÍCULAS: Desde el 4 de mayo hasta el 1 de agosto de 2025.
* PUBLICACIÓN DE SELECCIÓN OFICIAL A CONCURSO: 15 de julio de 2026. (En la web de FICNOVA).
* COMUNICACIÓN DE FINALISTAS: 2 de septiembre de 2026.
* COMUNICACIÓN DE GALARDONADOS: 2 de octubre de 2026.
* CELEBRACIÓN DEL FESTIVAL: Semana del 2 de octubre de 2026.
*** REQUISITOS IMPRECINDIBLES ***
* TEMÁTICA. Solo se admitirán aquellas obras que además de mostrar una denuncia de cualquier forma de violencia (física, económica, racial, religiosa, sexual, psicológica o moral) aporten también una salida no violenta que supere la situación de violencia, abriendo el futuro.
* IDIOMAS. Solo se admitirán obras en cualquier idioma original, pero que contengan obligatoriamente subtítulos en español y en inglés. No se admitirán películas a concurso que no cumplan este requisito.
* ASPECTOS GLOBALES
Puede participar cualquier persona de cualquier nacionalidad. También lo puede hacer un colectivo o institución, con la referencia y responsabilidad de una persona mayor de edad.
Los trabajos deben ser originales. La organización del concurso presupone que las personas que presentan las obras tienen los derechos sobre estas, desechando toda responsabilidad en caso de no ser cierto.
Formato de los trabajos.
A. Largometrajes: Con una duración mínima de 60 minutos.
B. Mediometrajes: Producciones entre 31 y 59 minutos de duración.
C. Cortos: No podrán durar más de 30 minutos.
Todos los trabajos admitidos necesitan aportar:
tráiler para mostrarse en la web del certamen (no más de 2 min);
un fichero de audio, vídeo o texto, del director o productor explicando qué impulsó la creación de la película y se identifiquen las formas de noviolencia que consideran plantea la obra: NV física, NV de género, NV racial, NV económica, NV religiosa, NV psicológica, NV moral, u otras. (Menos de 1 minuto de audio/vídeo, o menos de 500 palabras de texto).
* IDIOMAS. Solo se admitirán los trabajos en cualquier idioma original, pero que contengan obligatoriamente subtítulos en español y en inglés. No se admitirán películas a concurso que no cumplan este requisito.
* PARTICIPACIÓN
Las inscripciones se pueden hacer desde el 4 de mayo hasta el 1 de agosto de 2025, mediante las plataformas para festivales indicadas en la web del festival: www.ficnova.org
Formato de las películas a concurso. Podrán participar en la Sección General a concurso las películas realizadas en formato FullHD con codec H264 (1920x1080).
Una vez inscrita y seleccionada, la película no podrá ser retirada de la programación del Festival.
Todas estas formas de inscripción tendrán el carácter de declaración jurada de reconocimiento y aceptación de las presentes bases.
* PROCEDIMIENTOS DE INSCRIPCIÓN Y ENVÍO DE OBRAS
La inscripción y envío de obras, en el plazo indicado, se hará a través de las plataformas habilitadas para esta edición que figuran en la web: www.ficnova.org
En la presentación de la obra concurso se adjuntará la siguiente documentación:
Ficha técnica y sinopsis de la película.
Tráiler promocional.
Fichero de audio, vídeo o texto, del director o productor en el que se explique la motivación de creación de la película, y se identifiquen las formas de noviolencia que consideran plantea la obra: (NV física, NV de género, NV racial, NV económica, NV religiosa, NV psicológica, NV moral, otras)
2 fotografías de la película, y cartel de esta (si se dispone de ello).
E-mail de contacto para comunicación de resultados y dirección postal de posibles envíos de galardones.
* JURADO Y GALARDONES
La Organización del Festival nombrará los miembros del Jurado Oficial con las condiciones siguientes:
Estará integrado por profesionales del medio cinematográfico y de la enseñanza y por activistas humanistas de la noviolencia de las ciudades organizadoras del festival.
No podrá ser jurado quien tenga cualquier tipo de interés en la producción o explotación de un film en concurso.
Los miembros del jurado se comprometen a no expresar públicamente sus opiniones respecto de los filmes sometidos a su consideración antes de la proclamación oficial de los galardones.
El jurado elegirá entre los finalistas, los galardonados con las “Estelas de FICNOVA” en cada sección:
· Largometraje · Mediometraje · Cortometraje
Podría declararse desierta alguna categoría si los jurados no reconocieran, entre las obras recibidas, un ejemplo significativo de noviolencia.
La organización del festival se reserva el derecho de otorgar “Estelas de honor” con un galardón especial a las obras más significativas de la noviolencia, si lo considera oportuno.
*SELECCIÓN DE OBRAS
La organización del Festival seleccionará para entrar a concurso todas las producciones cuya temática se ajuste al criterio de mostrar un ejemplo de noviolencia, es decir, que al menos haya una denuncia clara de algún tipo de violencia (física, económica, racial, religiosa, psicológica, moral…) y que, además de la denuncia, aporten una salida no violenta que supere la situación de violencia que se muestra. Esta primera selección se realizará antes del 15 de julio de 2026 y se publicará a partir de esa fecha.
De todos los trabajos seleccionados se elegirán los semifinalistas y un máximo de cinco finalistas por cada una de las categorías. Se valorará especialmente aquellas obras que aporten ejemplos que trasciendan la propia cultura y sirvan de referencia mundial. Las finalistas se harán públicas en la web del concurso a partir del 2 de septiembre de 2026.
*COMPROMISOS GENERALES
Los participantes conceden a FICNOVA, como promotores del festival, los derechos para mostrar las producciones presentadas, de forma no exclusiva, durante la semana del festival, y en posteriores actos dirigidos a mostrarlas como ejemplos de la fuerza de la noviolencia activa, sin necesidad de aviso ni compensación por la concesión de tal derecho. En ningún caso FICNOVA explotará comercialmente sus proyecciones.
La organización local de cada ciudad-sede proyectará las películas del concurso de acuerdo a sus posibilidades logísticas, en la semana del festival o posteriormente, teniendo en cuenta siempre la cesión de espacios de forma voluntaria y gratuita.
Los productores y distribuidores de aquellos filmes que integran la Sección Oficial a Concurso pueden incluir en toda su publicidad y material de prensa la frase "Selección Oficial del 8º Festival Internacional de Cine de la No-violencia Activa 2026", utilizando el logotipo del Festival.
La Organización del Festival resolverá todo asunto no contemplado en el presente reglamento, de acuerdo con la legislación vigente.
La participación en el 8º Festival Internacional de Cine de la NoViolencia Activa 2026 implica por parte de los interesados la aceptación de las presentes bases.

Rules for participation in the GENERAL SECTION of the 8th FICNOVA 2026
* FILM ENTRY PERIOD: From 4 May to 1 August 2025.
* PUBLICATION OF OFFICIAL SELECTION FOR COMPETITION: 15 July 2026. (On the FICNOVA website).
* ANNOUNCEMENT OF FINALISTS: 2 September 2026.

*** ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS ***.
* THEME. Only those works will be accepted which, in addition to denouncing any form of violence (physical, economic, racial, religious, sexual, psychological or moral), also provide a non-violent solution to overcome the situation of violence, opening up the future.
* LANGUAGES: Only films in any original language will be accepted, but they must be subtitled in Spanish and English. Films that do not meet this requirement will not be admitted to the competition.
* GLOBAL ASPECTS
Any person of any nationality can participate. A group or institution can also participate, with the reference and responsibility of a person of legal age.
The works must be original. The organisation of the competition assumes that the persons submitting the works have the rights over them, disclaiming all responsibility if this is not the case.
Format of entries.
A. Feature films: With a minimum length of 60 minutes.
B. Medium-length films: Productions between 31 and 59 minutes long.
C. Short films:
All the works admitted need to provide:
a trailer to be shown on the competition website (no longer than 2 minutes);
an audio, video or text file from the director or producer explaining what prompted the creation of the film and identifying the forms of nonviolence they consider to be raised in the work: physical nonviolence, gender nonviolence, racial nonviolence, economic nonviolence, religious nonviolence, psychological nonviolence, moral nonviolence, or others (less than 1 minute of audio/video, or less than 500 words of text).
* LANGUAGES: Only films in any original language will be accepted, but they must be subtitled in Spanish and English. Films that do not meet this requirement will not be accepted.
* PARTICIPATION
Entries can be made from May 4th to August 1st 2025, through the festival platforms indicated on the festival website: www.ficnova.org
Format of the films in competition. Films made in FullHD format with H264 codec (1920x1080) can participate in the General Competition Section.
Once the film has been entered and selected, it cannot be withdrawn from the Festival programme.
All these forms of entry shall be considered as a sworn declaration of acknowledgement and acceptance of these rules.
* REGISTRATION AND SUBMISSION PROCEDURES
The registration and submission of works, within the indicated deadline, will be done through the platforms enabled for this edition that appear on the web: www.ficnova.org
The following documentation must be enclosed with the submission of the work for the competition:
Technical specifications and synopsis of the film.
Promotional trailer.
Audio, video or text file of the director or producer explaining the motivation for the creation of the film, and identifying the forms of nonviolence that they consider the work raises: (physical NV, gender NV, racial NV, economic NV, religious NV, psychological NV, moral NV, others).
2 photographs of the film, and poster of the film (if available).
Contact e-mail address for communication of results and postal address for possible delivery of awards.
* JURY AND AWARDS
The Festival Organization will appoint the members of the Official Jury under the following conditions:
The Jury will be made up of professionals from the film and education sectors and humanist activists for nonviolence from the cities organising the festival.
Jury members will not be those who have any interest in the production or exploitation of a film in competition.
The members of the jury undertake not to express publicly their opinions on the films submitted for their consideration before the official announcement of the awards.
*SELECTION OF WORKS
The Festival organisers will select for entry into the competition all productions whose subject matter meets the criterion of showing an example of nonviolence, i.e. that there is at least a clear denunciation of some kind of violence (physical, economic, racial, religious, psychological, moral...) and that, in addition to the denunciation, they provide a non-violent solution that overcomes the situation of violence that is being shown. This first selection will be made before 15 July 2026 and will be published after that date.
From all the selected works, semi-finalists and a maximum of five finalists will be chosen for each of the categories. Special consideration will be given to those works that provide examples that transcend their own culture and serve as a global reference. The finalists will be published on the competition website from 2 September 2026.
*GENERAL COMMITMENTS
The participants grant FICNOVA, as promoters of the festival, the rights to show the productions presented, on a non-exclusive basis, during the week of the festival, and in subsequent events aimed at showing them as examples of the power of active nonviolence, without the need for notice or compensation for the granting of such a right. Under no circumstances will FICNOVA commercially exploit its screenings.
The local organisation of each host city will screen the films in the competition according to its logistical possibilities, during the week of the festival or afterwards, always taking into account the free and voluntary cession of spaces.
The producers and distributors of those films that are part of the Official Competition Section may include in all their publicity and press material the phrase ‘Official Selection of the 8th International Film Festival of Nonviolence Active 2026’, using the Festival's logo.
The Festival Organisers will resolve all matters not covered by these regulations, in accordance with current legislation.
Participation in the 8th International Film Festival of Active Nonviolence 2026 implies the acceptance of these rules by those interested.
