The aim of FFStival is to provide an intersectional platform highlighting the work of women, female-presenting and non-binary people's achievements in all incarnations of cinema.
Inspired by events showcasing films made by women (such as Scotland’s Femspectives), we want to recentre the focus of film history and the future of the industry on projects creatively led by women. Sheffield has a rich cultural history and we hope to further develop the city's reputation as a hub for excellence supporting diversity in film in the North of England.

Panel and audience awards for best feature and short.

We are looking for films of any length and genre including shorts, features and everything in-between. We encourage both established and first-time filmmakers to submit, especially welcoming work from under-represented communities, women from diverse backgrounds and students of all ages. Whether your work is a micro-budget horror, full blown action thriller, sci-fi, social drama, documentary, music video or made-at-home animation, we want to hear from you! There are no restrictions on type of film.

All submitted films must be written, directed, or produced by women (including female and non-binary people of all gender presentations and alignments) and adhere to the F Rating:

You may submit films regardless of prior screening status or year of completion.
