FAQiff is the first Feminist and Queer International Film Festival in Romania. FAQiff promotes films and artists who explore feminism, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation and sexuality. The first edition of FAQiff will take place in November 2015, 6th to 10th, in Bucharest, Romania.

*Movies that are older than January 2013 will not be accepted in the competition.

HOW TO ENTER

Submit fully-completed entry form.

ENTRY MATERIALS

All entries must include the following:
(1) An official F.A.Q. International Film Festival “Entry Form” properly completed and submitted via www.faqiff.ro
(2) A full HD film link and password (private vimeo / unlisted youtube).
* video must contain English subtitles (information applies to English movies also)
(3) For short films only (up to 40 minutes), an archive uploaded on www.wetransfer.com to the following e-mail: entries@faqiff.ro which must contain:

a) The film (.avi, .mp4 or .mov in HD format) – max. 2GB
b) A separate subtitles file in English for both non-English and English works (.srt file format)
c) A still-frame which you think represents your film best (.jpg file format)
d) d) The poster of the film in high resolution (300 dpi)
(4) For feature length films:

a) The film (QuickTime H264, MP4 H264, MPEG2 HD, Blu-ray, DCP)
b) A separate subtitles file in English for both non-English and English works (.srt file format)
c) A still-frame which you think represents your film best (.jpg file format)
d) d) The poster of the film in high resolution (300 dpi)

MULTIPLE ENTRIES

Each entered work must be accompanied by its own entry form and by a separate Vimeo link and a password / an unlisted Youtube link.

ELIGIBILITY

Entrants must fully comply with the following Entry Rules & Regulations, including deadline(s) and entry material requirements, selected film requirements and premiere requirements:

(1) The film should be of LGBTQIA interest or depict LGBTQIA characters;
(2) Non-English language films must display English subtitles;
(3) Submitted works must not have previously been:

publicly broadcast in Romania (via TV or internet)
commercially exhibited in Romania (Cinema or TV);
* we do however accept films which have already been displayed in other Romanian film festivals

KEY DATES AND DEADLINES

* taking into consideration the fact that F.A.Q. is at it’s first edition, dates may be pushed forward without further notice

* If selected, filmmakers will be notified via email by July 2015. Please note: F.A.Q. International Film Festival does not send notifications to entries which have been declined.

IF YOUR WORK IS SELECTED

You must comply with the following requirements by the date(s) designated by the Festival:

(1) By entering a submission you acknowledge responsibility for obtaining any and all clearances necessary to exhibit your film at Feminist and Queer International Film Festival and hold harmless F.A.Q. International Film Festival and its affiliates against any claim arising out of the exhibition of your film at F.A.Q.;
(2) You are responsible with the delivery of the exhibition copy of the invited work(s) in one of the Exhibition Formats specified below:

Feature film formats: QuickTime H264, MP4 H264, MPEG2 HD, Blu-ray, DCP
Shorts can be exhibited in MP4, MOV, AVI File (2 GB) ONLY;

(3) You are responsible for delivery of the exhibition copy to the address designated by the Festival, if your film has been selected. Because we are at our first edition. We do however recommend you to send us a Blu-Ray or a DVD with the exhibition copy.

* Blu-ray Format of exhibition copy will not be returned.

(4) Your acceptance of an invitation to screen at F.A.Q. International Film Festival is final.

(5) The filmmaker cannot withdraw his/her/their participation after accepting an official invitation.

FESTIVAL PROGRAMMING

F.A.Q. International Film Festival programmers will determine the most appropriate time and section of the festival’s program in which to screen the works that they have selected.

Open to works from all regions
Eligible for: Best Narrative Feature, Honorable Mention for Narrative Feature.
Shorts (narrative under 40 minutes)

Open to works from all regions
Eligible for: Audience Short Award, Honorable Mention for Shorts
Shorts will play either in a program of short films, or prior to a feature film.
By submitting your entry form, you are providing your consent to F.A.Q. International Film Festival to screen your film during the festival and also for during retrospectives of F.A.Q International Film Festival . Should your film be selected, F.A.Q. International Film Festival will send you an acceptance notification and expects an acknowledgement in reply. In cases where no acknowledgement is received, F.A.Q. International Film Festival will consider your online entry form as providing your permission to screen the film.
