1 - Films must have been made after January 2024
2 - Length of films accepted: between 1 and 15 minutes
3 - Showreel retains the right to accept or decline any film, for whatever reason, without any explanation.
4 - Applicant admits that he/she is authorized to submit the film, being the rights-holder or authorized representative of the film.
5 - All entrants certify that they have been given full rights to use any music in their films.
6 - All non-English speaking films must have adequate English subtitles
7 - Showreel holds the right to use the selected films & related materials for trailers and publicity usage
8 - Submission of film materials and entry form does not guarantee screening during the festival or any of the out-of-competition events parallel to the festival.
9 - We ensure that personal data in the festival entry form, subject to your film submission, will stay confidential for the festival's use only and will not be shared with a third party.
10 - By submitting your film, Showreel allows you to debut your artistry alongside some of the industry’s most prestigious names.
11- The submitted works must be in the final edited version. Works in progress will not be considered.
12 - Films that include any of the following materials will NOT be selected to screen: Inappropriate language; Real violence; Real sexual abuse; Real child endangerment or child abuse; Pornography; Animal cruelty or animal abuse; Disturbing graphic imagery; Religious, political, sexual, violent or offensive content that does not align with Effat University and Saudi Arabian ethical considerations.
TO SUBMIT A FILM, you need to: • Certify that you are a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in a college/university during the academic year 2024 – 2026 or that the film was produced earlier while being enrolled as a student. Certification must be uploaded as either a valid student university ID card (front and back of the card), an official signed/stamped letter from the registrar’s office, or by the head of your university, college/school.
If your film is chosen to screen in the competition, we will send you an acceptance email and request a digital transfer of your short film. The file must be received by the date stated in the acceptance email, or your movie will not be screened.
