My name is Roxanne Ducharme, a French-Canadian illustrator and animator based in Panama. I’m an Emmy® Award winner and hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Cinema from Concordia University in Montreal. Known in the generative AI community and on social media as TrashCanRoxanne, I am also a proud member of the exclusive Creative Partners Programs (CPP) at Hailuo Minimax, Runway, Higgsfield, Freepik and Pika — all leaders in generative AI innovation.
Since 1985, I’ve been working in 2D film animation, a career that has taken me around the globe. I’ve contributed to a wide range of projects, including feature films, documentaries, television series, video games, and advertisements. My roles have spanned animator, art director, director, concept artist, animation supervisor, storyboard artist, layout artist, layout supervisor and character designer.
Some of my notable film credits include Steven Spielberg’s animated feature An American Tail II: Fievel Goes West and the Oscar-nominated animated short The Village. I also worked on the beloved children’s television series Arthur, which won three Emmy® Awards. Additionally, my illustrations have been featured in animated segments for documentaries on the Science Channel, Discovery Channel, and National Geographic.
Now working at the forefront of AI-driven content creation, I use generative tools to craft surreal, emotionally resonant worlds marked by a poetic, cinematic style. My goal is to blend my decades of experience in 2D animation with cutting-edge AI technologies to bring a fresh and innovative perspective to the industry.
