Films of any completion date are eligible for submission. However, although it is not a prohibitive rule, we prefer that the accepted films have not been screened anywhere in Izmir prior to the festival.
IZDOC and VISUS does not pay any screening fees.
Preview screeners and exhibition screeners must either be in English and/or have English subtitles. However, if your film is accepted to the festival, you must send an English subtitle file to be translated into Turkish. Because we show all selected and award-winning films with Turkish subtitles.
Rough cuts are accepted for entry at the final deadline only. If you submit a rough cut, we cannot guarantee that IZDOC programmers will be able to review an updated cut at a later date. If you are submitting a rough cut, make sure it is indicated as such. Include the intended final running time and work remaining to be completed with your entry. IZDOC does not exhibit works-in-progress at the festival.
If your film has dialogue and is not in English or Turkish must have English subtitles. If your film is accepted to the official selection, all videos and films other than Turkish must submit English subtitle files. Because all films with dialogue will be shown with Turkish subtitles. Dialogue lists are not accepted.
DCP is NOT an accepted screening format.
