Yalçın Yalın was born in 1976 in Izmit. When he lost his father at an early age, he left his education life and started working to provide for his family. He took the first step of his childhood dream of directing by starting to work as a cameraman for a local television channel in Izmit in the early nineties, and days before the 1999 Izmit earthquake, he transferred to Star television, which broadcasts nationally. He worked as a producer and director in magazine programmes such as Paparazzi, Pazar Ekspresi, Renkli Hayatlar and Ekstra. From 2003 until 2011, he worked as a visual director in the news centre of Star Television. He prepared series film credits, commercial films. He designed television programme projects and also directed them. Some of them are ‘Music Traveller, Call of Voices, Breath to Voice, Young Music’ for TRT Music, Traditional Houses, Traditional Clothes for TRT2. He prepared and directed the biography documentaries of more than twenty famous Turkish singers and musicians. He produced media content for International Music Festivals and directed concerts of world-famous singers and musicians on big stages in Turkey. Some of them are Buika, Goran Bregovic, Despina Vandi, George Dalaras, Natacha Atlas, Souad Massi, Yasmin Levy. Yalçın Yalın returned to his education life, which he left at an early age, by saying ‘Education has no age’ and currently graduated from Erciyes University, Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema with a second degree.
