Derby Film Festival is one of the leading regional film festival in the UK. Bringing together film fans, filmmakers and industry figures, Derby Film Festival is ten days long and will run from 4th - 13th May 2018. The patron of Derby FIlm Festival is actor/director David Morrissey (The Walking Dead).
The opening four days of the festival are turned over to genre weekend PARACINEMA which showcases the best in new genre cinema, classics and rare cinema curiosities.
Screenings, previews and showcase events with major figures from the world of film will be accompanied by panel discussions, workshops and masterclasses.
In 2016, we had Sir Ben Kingsley attend the festival for a talk about his illustrious career in Film. Actor and author Simon Callow attended to discuss his career and his series of books about the life of Orson Welles. Other attendees were actress Julie Peasgood and BBFC film examiner David Hyman.
Previous years we have welcomed Sir John Hurt, Jenny Agutter, Phil Davis and Directors Mark Herman, Jake West, Peter Sasdy, John Hough, Waris Hussein and Michael Armstrong

Derby Film Festival vis hereby granted the right to utilise an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes.
The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorised to commit the film for screening (s) during the film festival dates, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.
The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless Derby Film Festival from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to legal fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
