The Demonic Brilliance Film Festival (DBFF) is an international horror film festival brought to you by Creeker Films and Steam Powered Studios. As horror filmmakers ourselves, we strive to highlight the best horror films and the people who make them!

We love all things horror, from splatter to slasher, especially films that challenge expectations. We want films that take no prisoners and go all in! If it's a splatter film, we want blood, guts and body fluids! If it's a supernatural story we want spooky atmosphere and amazing production value!

Basically, we’re looking for horror films that kick ass!

We welcome filmmakers’ who understand the importance of good acting, stellar lighting, cinematography and detailed production design and we love to see horror films that make you think and carry themselves with intelligence.

Unlike most film festivals who snub horror films when it comes to award eligibility, we aim to celebrate greatness in the horror genre and give out awards in all major categories.

Rules & Terms

Submit via FilmFreeway.

All horror sub-genres welcomed.

There is no specific time limits

There is no set completion date required & it doesn't matter if your film is already online.

For non-English films, subtitles are preferred but we will show your film as you want it!

Submission fees are non-refundable.

We do not pay screening fees.

By submitting, you grant DBFF the right to use your film/image for promotion of the festival.

When submitting please include full crew & cast lists, address, email, posters, stills, headshots and bios. We want to promote you!

There is no limit to the number of films one person can submit.

Online, HD links are the preferred method to download films.

Filmmakers must have the rights to all images and music in their film.

    I love screening at DBFF! It grows a little bigger and a little better each year and the festival team has infectious - or perhaps I should say infected - energy. 2023 featured some truly amazing films from all around this dark, tortured world and I was delighted that Woodspell was in such fantastic company.
