The Cinque Continenti Film Festival is a film festival founded in 2014 with the aim of promoting the art of short films as an innovative form of communication and entertainment, which, for synthesis, ideas and quality of realization of the proposed messages, is able to fascinate and attract spectators of all ages.
It ran successfully for 3 editions and took a long break due to funding issue. We are now back and bigger! The festival is divided into several evenings that take place in historical locations scattered throughout the territory (castles, cloisters, amphitheaters, squares, medieval villages, courtyards of noble palaces, etc.), helping to enhance the image of places rich in history, art and culture, which become the magical and evocative scenery where you can admire the best of new international productions in the field of short films, with a wide selection of films from all over the world.
The selected film works deal with the most disparate themes, using both the dramatic and comedy registers, with a narrative or documentary approach. The attention is focused, in particular, on those short films that deal with social issues such as cultural integration, emigration, hospitality, respect for human rights or that tell – through colors, landscapes, music and dances – representative stories of different cultures and territorial realities. The result is an event in which art goes beyond the boundaries of discrimination, hostility and repression of ideas, to reach spaces for sharing, socialization and brotherhood among peoples. .
