ChewBoy Small Bites Festival is back!
Returning for the second year, Small Bites is all about finding bold, exciting, bite-sized storytelling from early-career filmmakers. This festival celebrates fresh, exciting voices in filmmaking, so whether it’s your first film or your latest masterpiece, we want to see it.
Winning films will be screened at our mini festival in October 2026 to a live audience at the Pleasance Theatre London, with the opportunity to win the festival’s overall Tastiest Bite trophy. Beyond the festival, every winning film will be showcased on our website for fresh audiences to discover for a full year.
And there’s more: winners will receive an exclusive 40% discount on all camera and lighting gear through our rental platform for a year, plus a complimentary consultation with our award-winning filmmaking team to help bring their next project to life.
So what are we looking for? You can submit to our Small Bites festival in the following three categories:
Hefty Bite - Sub-15 minutes
This category encompasses fiction, non-fiction, drama, sci-fi, horror…the kinda shorts we really want to sink our teeth into.
Funny Bite - Sub-15 minutes
It’s simple: we want short films that get people laughing. It could be sketch, narrative comedy, dark comedy or just plain silly. Just make sure it’s original and unique.
Little Bite - Sub-2 minutes
This can be any genre, as long as it’s short, snappy, and gets what you’re saying across in less than 2 minutes!
Submissions are free.
The deadline for submissions is 28th April and winning submissions will go live on our website in late May. Winning films will be screened at the live Small Bites mini festival on 6th October at Pleasance Theatre, with tickets going on sale later in the year.
Who are we?
ChewBoy is the multi-award-winning hot pot of creative media, established in 2018. We provide tasty film and videography for the creative industries, with a mission to make high quality digital work accessible, playful and less bland.
ChewBoy will select up to three films per category and each winner will:
→ Have their film exhibited on ChewBoy’s website for an extended period of time
→ Have their film shown to a live audience at The Small Bites Festival screening, at The Pleasance Theatre on the 6th October 2026.
