CCIFF will be recognizing excellence with awards for the Best Indie, Best Directors, Best Ensemble and more! Plus, every entrant will have the opportunity to discuss distribution with veteran film distribution executives and their companies, Gate 23 Entertainment and Counterspell Distribution.

A team of industry experts and academics from the Ventura County area judges submissions based on a high standard of merit.
Award-winning projects are publicly screened in Ventura County, and the audience can attend special Q&A sessions with the cast and crew.

Each entry is evaluated by at least three judges on a performance scale, considering its quality and creativity. The entries with the highest ratings are nominated for the awards in their respective categories, from which the winners are selected.

2. Entry fees are non-refundable.
3. The submitter owns all the rights to the film.
4. The information about the entries can be disclosed to CCIFF associate film festivals.
5. Submission cannot be withdrawn after the announcement of the official selection.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Central Coast International Film Festival! Our film, Across the Aisle screened and won the award for Best Production Design! We are so grateful to the festival for the recognition, and we’re very excited to seeing the festival continue its growth. The venue was excellent, the selection of films was of great quality, filmmakers were very excited to attend and had great Q&A’s, we can’t wait to see how the festival expands in the future!

It is great that Camarillo is representing this region for new filmmakers. And I loved that they built in time for each team to share their story and answer questions. The two hour blocks makes it easy to sit through an entire grouping and then have a break. Thanks for selecting Malorum for Best Student Short Film! Arthur
