GLITCH FEST SUBMISSION CRITERIA:
Narrative, experimental or animated films or music videos created in the south eastern United States containing any of the following elements:
-Glitches in time, space or memory
-Glitchy visual effects created with in-camera recording, lighting design or post production
-A prominently synth-based score
-Score or sound effects featuring circuit bent technology
-Synth(s) featured as props / mis-en-scene
-Themes of futurism, technology, augmented reality and/or time travel
-horror, sci-fi and experiemental films preferred, but any genre will be considered
-the weirder the better
-films needed in QuickTime ProRes file format.
-MUST be associated with the Southeast region of the United States in a significant way (i.e. film was shot in the Southeast; directors, producers, actors are from or based in the SE; the story is about Southern culture; etc.)
-Please include a FILM POSTER, LOGLINE, any BEHIND THE SCENES PHOTOS and HOW TO CREDIT YOUR FILM ON THE POSTER IF SELECTED with your submission. Please allow an option to download from FilmFreeway directly.
-By submitting, the submitter and filmmaker(s) agree to grant Cat Fly Film Fest permission to share provided imagery for marketing and promotional purposes of the festival. If no film poster or BTS photos are provided at submission, Cat Fly will not be able to promote your film to our audience.
Notes:
-We consider short films to be 0 minutes - 20 minutes in length
-Music videos must feature a regional independent band or musician and be under 6 minutes in length.
-Longer independent films and features (20 minutes or more) will NOT be considered for this event. Save them for the spring :)
-No cutoff date for when the film was made, but cannot have screened at a past Cat Fly Indie Film event (excludes Mythic Music Video Showcase, BYOF and test screenings).
-Payments made to Cat Fly cannot be refunded.
-Cat Fly believes in inclusivity of minorities, women and the queer community in film.
