Caleb Dillon is an award-winning filmmaker developing projects in North Carolina.
Hailing from a long tradition of oral history Appalachian storytellers, Caleb writes historical, high-concept genre, and family drama through the lens of broken families; he's just as happy writing sword-and-sandal epics as indie darlings. He creates in the feature and TV space.
As a screenwriter, Caleb was honored as a finalist in both the Humanitas David & Lynn Angell College Comedy Award 2025 (Nimrods) and the Carol Mendelsohn College Drama Award 2025 (Holler Girl). His sword and sandals historical, Enemy of All Mankind, scored an 8 on the Blacklist, while his short story, Identity Theft, was a Winner in the Killer Shorts Horror Short Screenplay Competition 2024. Caleb's family drama, Husky, was a finalist in the Austin Film Festival Pitch Competition 2025. Caleb's feature The Inn finished in the Nicholl Fellowship (top 10%). Several of Caleb's scripts were featured on The Red List before Coverfly closed in 2025.
Caleb's most recent short film, Good Behavior, began a festival run in Fall 2025. The script was a Finalist in the HollyShorts Screenwriting Competition.
In 2014, Caleb directed an independent horror feature, In the Pines, produced on a shoestring budget of only fifty thousand dollars. When the production company closed, Caleb acquired the project to complete; now in the final stages of post-production, it will begin its festival run soon.

The Berlin Short Awards, the San Francisco Arthouse Short Festival, and the Brooklyn International Short Awards, among others
In 2025, three of his horror short stories will be published in the aptly titled 'Spooky Anthology'. He had several gaming articles published in Steve Jackson Games' Pyramid Magazine.
Caleb taught producing to students at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts while pursuing his Masters in Screenwriting. He is currently seeking teaching opportunities..

When not writing or on set, Caleb enjoys tabletop roleplaying, video games, and camping.
