Caleb Dillon is an award-winning independent filmmaker developing projects in North Carolina.
Caleb writes historical, high-concept genre, and family drama through the lens of broken families; he's just as happy writing sword and sandals epics as character dramas.
In 2014, Caleb directed an independent horror feature, In the Pines, produced on a shoestring budget of only fifty thousand dollars. When the production company closed, Caleb kept close contact with the film's producer, acquiring the rights to complete the film on his own.
Caleb recently completed work on an independently produced short film, Snickety Snack. The short was selected by nine festivals.
When not writing or on set, Caleb enjoys tabletop roleplaying, video games, and camping.
Conceived as a low-budget thriller, with a small cast and a guerilla crew, haunting the quiet streets of North Carolina towns. This short could function as a Proof of Concept for a longer feature entry but was devised as a stand-alone narrative. The short explores themes of morality and examines the complexities of human behavior, the motives behind criminal acts, and the impact of hapless perpetrators on their families. What at first appears to be clear-cut becomes anything but as the character's backstories are explored on both sides of the line - viewers should walk away from the experience questioning who was right and wrong. Both a morality tale and commentary on social inequality, this story is a snapshot of our time.
