1) The C (H) ORTA - Short Film Festival of Faial is intended for films in digital format and is open to the participation of all interested directors;
2) For the purposes of participation, the Festival Organization establishes that the name “directors” refers to the author of the work presented to the competition;
3) The short films must be submitted for pre-selection in digital format (avi, mp4);
4) Films can be in color or in black and white, in the genres: fiction, animation and documentary.
5) Films that have won prizes in other contests or film festivals can compete. The films admitted to the contest must have been produced from 2019 on, inclusive;
6) Directors who are registered or not can compete in clubs or sections of cinema;
7) There is no limit to the number of films presented by each director for pre-selection;
8 ) The film must not be longer than 15 minutes, including credits;
9) Applications for films that have already been included in the Official Exhibition of C (H) ORTA will not be accepted;
10) For a registration to be considered valid, it must contain all the elements of the registration form duly completed (download at http://chorta.ajifa.pt/inscricao/).
11) The Festival Organization designates a Pre-Selection Committee in charge of viewing all films with valid registrations, being responsible for preparing the pre-selection that will result in the list of films competing in festival. There will be no appeals from the decisions of the Pre-Selection Committee;
12) The films selected by the Pre-Selection Committee will be part of the “Official Selection of the C (H) ORTA - Short Film Festival of Faial 2021” and will be submitted to the Festival's jury prior to the Official Exhibition.
13) C (H) ORTA awards prizes in the following categories:
a) Best Fiction
b) Best Animation
c) Best Documentary
d) Best Faialense Short Film
e) Best Azorean Short Film
f) Best Film
g) Audience Award
h) Best actor
I) Best actress
14) The official jury consists of 3 elements designated by the organization. The jury will be followed by a member of the Organization, without the right to vote;
15) If the quality of the films in the competition so justifies, the Organization and the jury reserves the right not to award prizes to the categories presented ate point 13, lines a), b), c), d) and e);
16) The registration period runs until October 10, 2021. On October the 14th, the Official Selection will be announced on the official C (H) orta page.
17) The Organization reserves the right to cancel the Festival if films are not received in a number deemed appropriate for the competition;
18) The presentation session within the Festival takes place on October 30, 2021, at Teatro Faialense, Horta, Faial, Azores, Portugal;
19) Participation in the Festival requires full acceptance of these Regulations;
20) The resolution of situations not provided in "Regulamento" is the responsibility of the Festival Organization.
