BIMIFF - Brazil International Monthly Independent Film Festival

I. All films not in English MUST have English language subtitles.

II. All entry fees are non-refundable. To register in the special and/or individual categories, the registrant MUST submit his project in one of the main categories, otherwise, the submission will be INVALIDATED.

III. Multiple entries from the same submitter are accepted, with separated submissions and separated entry fees that will accompany each entry. However, in repeated entries of the same project, only the last entry will be considered.

IV. The decisions of the festival selection committee and jury will be final and indisputable.

V. Films that are submitted MUST BE the entrant’s original work, and SHALL NOT infringe on any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties. Contestants agree that they have obtained all required copyright permission, regarding music, sound, images and etc. presented in their film. Therefore filmmakers MUST have all rights associated with their films and allow “BIMIFF” to use clips for publicity purposes, including uploading a clip, trailer, Poster, or Image online.

VI. By Submitting your project to BIMIFF, you allow our Festival to use press materials from the film (such as still photos, posters, trailers, and clips) for promotional purposes on our website and social media. Therefore, all films selected for the Festival grant BIMIFF the rights to use press materials from the films for promotional purposes.

VII. The burden of obtaining copyright and all proprietary interests for the submitted material rests solely on the applicant.

VIII. Brazilian International Monthly Independent Film Festival organizers reserve the right to change, cancel or re-schedule the dates, awards & categories without prior consent or information to contestants.

IX. The organizers reserve the right not to award any or all of the prizes.

X. We, as the festival organizers understand that:
a) International films are any-length films NOT PRODUCED in Brazil
b) Brazilian films are any-length films PRODUCED in Brazil
c) Feature films are films 70 minutes in length and above
d) Medium-length films are films with more than 15 minutes and less than 70 minutes in length
e) Short films are films with more than 1 minute and less than 15 minutes in length

XI. "BIMIFF" will not publish the full-length film without the permission of the submitter. If the filmmaker decides not to show the film online, we will screen the short privately to the Festival Jury. All private films are equally qualified for all the awards.

XII. We do not require premiere status.

XIII. Film must be submitted in the correct category or else it will be directly disqualified.

COPYRIGHTS
By submitting your film to our festival you agree that your piece of work (full film, trailer) can be uploaded/embedded on our website. The filmmaker/institution that is submitting the film must own the right to do so and is responsible for the content they are providing. By submitting, the filmmaker allows BIMIFF to create a page for their film without infringing the copyright of any kind of form. Filmmakers can make a request via email to remove the film link at any time.

DISCLAIMER
The applicant agrees to have read and accepted the rules & regulations for participation in the “BIMIFF – Brazilian International Monthly Independent Film Festival”.
The applicant confirms that he/she has the requisite authority or has obtained the requisite authority from the producer/right holder to enter this film in the “BIMIFF” and make available the print for screening. Under NO circumstance, the authorities of “BIMIFF” will entertain or be answerable to anyone else apart from the applicant.

NOTIFICATIONS
After a film has been selected for the film competition, the filmmaker is notified via email only. The selected films will be published on the festival website. All films which are selected/nominated for the competition will be informed only by emails, and social media & listed on the festival website. No inquiries or arguments will be entertained regarding non-selected films. The decision of the selection committee and jury will be final and indisputable.

I. Todos os filmes não falados em inglês DEVEM ter legendas em inglês.

II Todas as taxas de inscrição não são reembolsáveis. Para se inscrever nas categorias especiais e/ou individuais, o responsável DEVE inscrever seu projeto em uma das categorias principais, caso contrário, sua submissão será INVALIDADA.

III Várias entradas do mesmo remetente serão aceitas, com envio separado e taxa de inscrição separada que acompanhará cada entrada. Porém, em entradas repetidas de um mesmo projeto, apenas a última entrada será considerada.

IV As decisões do comitê de seleção do festival e do júri serão finais e incontestáveis.

V. Os filmes enviados DEVEM SER o trabalho original do participante e NÃO DEVEM violar direitos autorais ou quaisquer outros direitos de terceiros. Os participantes concordam que obtiveram todas as permissões de direitos autorais necessárias, relacionadas a músicas, sons, imagens e etc. apresentados em seus filmes. Portanto, os cineastas DEVEM ter todos os direitos associados a seus filmes, permitindo assim que o "BIMIFF" use clipes para fins publicitários, incluindo o upload de clipes, trailer, pôster e imagens online.

VI. Ao enviar seu projeto para o BIMIFF, você permite que o nosso Festival use materiais impressos do filme (como fotos, pôsteres, trailers e clipes) para fins promocionais em nosso site e mídia social. Portanto, todos os filmes selecionados para o Festival concedem ao BIMIFF o direito de usar os materiais impressos dos filmes para fins promocionais.

VII. O ônus de obter direitos autorais e todos os interesses de propriedade do material enviado depende exclusivamente do solicitante.

VIII. Os organizadores do BIMIFF - Festival Internacional de Cinema Independente Mensal do Brasil se reservam ao direito de alterar, cancelar ou reprogramar as datas, prêmios e categorias de premiação sem consentimento ou informações prévias aos participantes.

IX. Os organizadores se reservam ao direito de não conceder nenhum ou todos os prêmios.

X. Nós, como organizadores do festival, entendemos que:
a) Filmes internacionais são filmes de qualquer duração NÃO PRODUZIDOS no Brasil
b) Filmes brasileiros são filmes de qualquer duração PRODUZIDOS no Brasil
c) Longas-metragens são filmes com 70 minutos de duração e acima
d) Filmes de média-metragem são filmes com mais de 15 minutos e menos de 70 minutos
e) Curtas-metragens são filmes com mais de 2 minutos e menos de 15 minutos de duração

XI. "BIMIFF" não publicará o filme completo online sem a permissão do detentor do projeto. Se o cineasta decidir não exibir filmes online, exibiremos o curta em particular apenas para o Júri do Festival. Todos os filmes privados serão igualmente qualificados para todos os prêmios.

XII. Não exigimos status de estreia.

XIII. O filme deve ser enviado na categoria correta, caso contrário será desqualificado assim que avaliado.

DIREITOS AUTORAIS
Ao enviar seu filme para o nosso festival, você concorda que seu projeto (filme completo, trailer) pode ser carregado e/ou incorporado em nosso site. O cineasta e/ou produtora que está enviando o filme deve possuir os direitos de fazê-lo e é responsável pelo conteúdo que está fornecendo. Ao enviar, o cineasta permite que o BIMIFF crie uma página para o filme em seu website, sem violar quaisquer direitos autorais. Os cineastas podem fazer uma solicitação por e-mail para remover o link do filme do website do Festival a qualquer momento.

AVISO LEGAL
O solicitante concorda em ter lido e aceito as regras e regulamentos para participação no “BIMIFF - Festival Internacional de Filmes Independentes Mensal do Brasil”.
O requerente confirma que possui a autoridade necessária ou obteve a autoridade necessária do produtor e/ou titular do direito para inscrever este filme no "BIMIFF" e disponibilizar a impressão para exibição. Sob nenhuma circunstância, as autoridades do “BIMIFF” receberão ou responderão a alguém além do responsável pela inscrição do filme.

NOTIFICAÇÕES
Após a seleção de um filme para a competição, o cineasta é notificado apenas por e-mail. Os filmes selecionados serão publicados no site do festival. Todos os filmes selecionados e/ou indicados para a competição serão informados apenas por e-mail, redes sociais e listados no site do festival. Nenhuma pergunta ou argumento será recebido com relação a filmes não selecionados. A decisão do comitê de seleção e júri será final e incontestável.
