The Ateker International Film Festival (AIFF) is a flagship project of Ateker Creatives Lab, a creative community-based organization in Turkana, Kenya. Our festival is a vibrant platform dedicated to amplifying the voices of young filmmakers, creatives, and marginalized communities through storytelling and cultural expression. AIFF is a celebration of indigenous narratives, bringing to light the unique experiences, histories, and aspirations of the Turkana, other Ateker regions, and similar communities.
By bridging gaps in the film and creative industries, the film festival provides an accessible and inclusive space where emerging and established filmmakers can showcase their work, connect with industry professionals, and gain vital skills. Through film screenings, workshops, cultural showcases, and networking events, we are not only nurturing new talent but also ensuring that stories from our communities find their place on the global stage.
