ALISANUKIRWA JOY MATOVU is a Ugandan filmmaker who aims to leave a lasting imprint on audiences. As a writer, director, producer and cinematographer, he crafts emotionally rich stories that explore the complexities human nature, often using extraordinary circumstances to highlight everyday struggles.
With over half a decade experience in film and theatre, Joy has worked on notable productions including BBC’s Being 17 and Opportunities Are Here – Uganda (Season One Finalist). His passion for story telling extends to the theatre stage where he was part of the first all-Black cast as Arpad in the Broadway Musical She Loves Me, performed in Uganda.
