Florida Filmmaker Showcase

The Local Festival with Global Reach

Florida Filmmakers—
Want direct access to distributors?
Want audiences to recognize you, not just your film?
Want a real path from short film to streaming revenue?

Here's the reality:
Most festivals offer recognition—but not revenue. You submit, you screen, you collect laurels. But the gap between "Official Selection" and actual distribution remains.

So we built the Florida Filmmaker Showcase to close that gap—and create a clear path forward.

Selection is based on market viability, professional execution, and audience potential, with selected films packaged, marketed, and pitched directly to buyers.

How This Is Different
1. The Judges (Decision-Makers, Not Gatekeepers)

Most Festivals: Selection committees prioritize artistic merit and programming fit—which matters for recognition, but doesn't guarantee a path to market.

Our Showcase: Our judges are the market. They are distributors, producers, and buyers who acquire films for a living.

Our Judges:
Taylor Miller – Director, Slamdance Film Festival
Sope Aluko – Actor (Black Panther, Marvel Cinematic Universe)
Rich Wolff – Owner, Breaking Glass Pictures (Global Distributor)
Leonardo "Lenny" Gonzalez – Oscar & Grammy Award-winning Producer (L Media Studios)
Trace De La Torre – Warner Bros.
Juan Carlos Coto – Writer/Producer (911, Nikita)

If your film is selected, it’s because people who actually spend money on content believe it has value.

2. The Money (Short Films That Don’t Die on Hard Drives)

Most Festivals: You invest submission fees, travel costs, and time for screening opportunities and recognition—but short films rarely generate revenue after the festival run ends.

Our Showcase: We built a model that turns that investment into ongoing potential returns.

After screening the selected short films, we include them in a feature-length anthology distributors can actually sell to global streaming platforms such as Tubi and FilmRise. Filmmakers selected for the anthology retain full ownership of their films while earning potential passive income from global streaming distribution.

3. The Audience (We Market the Filmmaker, Not Just the Film)

Most Festivals: Your film screens, you network, you make connections—but once the festival ends, audiences move on to the next screening.

Our Showcase: We connect audiences and buyers not just with your film, but with YOU.

Every selected filmmaker receives a professionally produced, on-camera interview embedded into the feature itself. Audiences don't just watch your work—they meet you. This matters to distributors, financiers, and anyone assessing your long-term potential.

How It Works
This isn’t just a festival. It’s a career accelerator.

We select 5–6 short films that meet professional standards and package them into a single, market-ready feature length anthology. That feature—and the filmmakers behind it—is presented to distributors, producers, investors, and live audiences.

Filmmakers selected for the anthology retain full ownership of their films while earning potential passive income from global streaming distribution.

If your film is selected… you will be required to sign a non-exclusive distribution agreement so we can distribute and promote you and your work. YOU WILL STILL OWN THE RIGHTS TO YOUR FILM!

Event Date: Sept. 26, 2026

Why Submit Early
Selection is rolling and extremely limited.

Once the slate is full, submissions close—regardless of deadline. Early submissions receive more serious consideration simply because there is still space.
Studios, producers, and investors attend specifically to scout talent. Come ready to work.

The Florida Filmmaker Showcase is presented by Arts Accelerator, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our mission is to build sustainable creative careers by developing the talent that creates South Florida Culture.

Your film doesn’t need another laurel.
It needs distribution, audience, and momentum.

  • It was my first time attending the 2025 Arts Accelerator Film Festival – South Florida Filmmaker Showcase and submitting a film. What made the festival truly special wasn’t just winning the Audience Award (though that was amazing!) for our film Malabar, but witnessing the response from an audience made up entirely of fellow South Florida filmmakers. Their enthusiasm and support for the film was genuinely unforgettable. What a memorable experience! I'm a fan!
