The Arts Accelerator Film Festival is designed to develop South Florida Film talent, identify emerging talent, develop their creative skills, expose them to a network of experienced film professionals, and promote their work to a worldwide market.

Traditional short film screenings and awards are designed to recognize completed projects and connect emerging talent with established Hollywood professionals.

Valuable industry workshops.

A “film race” in partnership with the 48-Hour Film Project, offering a rapid, highly interactive path by which participants can learn, network, gain professional experience, and make a film in 48 hours to kick-start their career and highlight their talent.

Inclusion of winning films in a feature-length “South Florida Emerging Filmmaker” showcase for worldwide streaming distribution. This format enables local creatives to gain exposure and potential royalties for their creative work.

The combination of the film race, screenings, professional development workshops, and Emerging Filmmaker Showcase combine to make the Arts Accelerator Film Festival a unique and innovative program that will promote a sustainable South Florida film industry and enable local talent to create valuable media with global reach.

Winning films will have a chance at distribution through a dramatic feature film omnibus to highlight talent. Special surprise award for qualifying shorts with our distribution partners. Select international submissions may be considered for additional distribution opportunities as well.

Sope Aluko
Actor/Writer/Producer
Sope Aluko (pronounced "Shaw-peh Ahlookoh") is a Nigerian-born actress, primarily raised in the UK. While in the UK, Sope attended drama classes at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) and extended her study into dance. She had the privilege of performing the world-famous South African "Ipi Tombi" dance at the National Arts Theater in Nigeria. Although a cultivated artist, Sope received an undergraduate degree in Engineering and a master's degree in Marketing. After a very successful career in the corporate arena in both London and the US, Sope turned her sight back on acting and performing. Since then, she has booked recurring roles on shows like Netflix's "Bloodline", NBC's "Law & Order SVU" and "Parks & Recreation", and guest appearances on USA Network's "Burn Notice", "Graceland", Lifetime's "Army Wives", Starz's "Counterpart", CW's "Legacies" and more. Her film credits include supporting roles in feature films like Identity Thief, Pitch Perfect 2, The Good Lie, Disney Marvel's "Black Panther", Sony Marvel's "Venom" and more.

Trace De La Torre
Trace De La Torre is an Executive and Film Producer known for the award-winning short horror film "Lullaby" from Director Dale Fabrigar and Penguin Random House published author, Marc Paoletti.

Trace began her media career at Warner Bros. Studios where she spent a decade supporting some of the most iconic film and television properties such as "The Matrix", "Harry Potter", "The Lord of the Rings", "Two-and-a-Half Men", "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", and "The Big Bang Theory", among many others during her tenure.

Rules & Terms
- Films must be less than 15 minutes
- Filmmakers must live in Florida
- Filmmakers MUST attend the event in person, or send a representative who can participate in a Q&A
- Be ready to network. Local film studios and investors attend our monthly events to meet emerging talent.
