MOON is an independent filmmaker and author from Fort Lauderdale. She is best known for her viral, award-winning fantasy series "Juju: The Web Series," which made her a recipient of the Comcast Black Experience on Xfinity $100,000 award. Her passion for storytelling is rooted in her Chinese Jamaican family’s lore, her love for Florida’s history and mysticism, and her need to escape in her youth—all reflected in her work. Since 2018, Moon has written, directed, and produced acclaimed short films and digital series through her company, Filled With Magic Productions. Her work has aired on television and has been selected by top festivals, including the American Black Film Festival, Atlanta Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, Essence Film Festival, and Miami Film Festival.
Her latest project, Skettel, is a coming-of-age, semi-autobiographical feature that follows Marley, a single mother and college student, as she navigates young motherhood, raises a neurodivergent toddler, and works as a bottle girl at a chaotic Atlanta nightclub. When life feels impossible, Marley enters a Jamaican dancehall contest to win the cash prize she needs for a better future. The proof-of-concept short has screened at over 25 festivals and earned eight awards. It stars Alicia Pilgrim (A Thousand and One, HBO’s Random Acts of Flyness).
Outside narrative work, Moon has contributed to Street Food (Netflix), The 1619 Project (Hulu), and nonprofit documentary profiles. Her award-winning short on NASCAR’s first Black woman pit crew member premiered at Tribeca and was acquired by PBS South Florida.
