Director Biography - Moon Ferguson

Moon is a Jamaican-Chinese American writer and director, from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, who specializes in horror and fantasy fare. A product of her environment, Moon began writing stories as a young girl about strong female characters who embodied her unique cultural background and experiences as a Black Millennial woman.

Her first indie project, MENTAL focused on the stigma of mental health in the West Indian community and was an official selection of the 2018 African American Women in Cinema Film Festival in NYC. Her next endeavor, the coming-of-age web series, JU-JU about three Black friends who discover they are witches, is currently available on Amazon. Moon was inspired to write this story because she really wanted to see a world of nuanced Black
supernaturals, as well as create something for her people across the diaspora so that they could be proud of their heritage, their culture, and most importantly, their magic.
