Animax Skopje Fest is the first animated film festival in Macedonia, presenting a unique opportunity to showcase local creative talent. This festival provides a platform for audiences to experience the latest in Macedonian animation, alongside international works. It is a competitive event, open to animators from around the globe. Our aim in organizing an international animated film festival in Macedonia is to elevate the visibility and appreciation of this art form within the country.

Profile and Mission
Animax Skopje Fest is designed for anyone passionate about animation as a form of communication and cultural expression. It supports creative and constructive leisure activities, aligning with global trends in the creative industries. Organized by the production company Auripigment, in collaboration with the Association of Citizens Creative Center “Tintiri - Mintiri” of Skopje, and with the support of the Macedonian Film Agency, the festival's main mission includes:

Promoting animation in Macedonia.
Raising awareness of animation as an important cultural and creative industry in Macedonia.
Fostering communication and collaboration between Macedonian and international artists.
Facilitating dialogue among filmmakers, designers, animators, artists, producers, and viewers.
Organizing seminars, forums, and workshops.
Who We Are
Auripigment, a production company with 17 years of experience in the audio-visual arts in Macedonia, produces feature films, TV series, documentaries, and entertainment programs. Many of our projects are nationally recognized for their universal values.
Co-implementer of the festival is NGO Tintiri Mintiri.
Animax Skopje Fest aims to unite and inspire all Macedonian animators, providing a platform to showcase and validate their creative potential. We believe in the quality and talent of Macedonian authors and are committed to promoting and exporting their aesthetic and innovative animated works. The festival also aims to enhance the culture of animation in Macedonia, producing films for both adults and children that reflect diverse aspects of everyday life.
Each November, Animax Skopje Fest culminates in an awards ceremony recognizing the most successful animated films, selected by a jury after a rigorous competition. Our team stays abreast of global animation trends and is dedicated to bringing the best of international animation to Macedonia.

GENERAL PROVISIONS

The fifteenth edition of the Macedonian International Animation Festival “Animax Skopje Fest” will be held in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia, from December 25th to 26th, 2024.
The Festival program consists of the following sections:
Open international animated film competition
Thematic sections and special screenings
The Organizer of ASF 2024 is Auripigment Production in collaboration with NGO Film School Tintiri-Mintiri from Skopje. The Festival is supported by the City of Skopje and other partners.
Films in the official competition can be submitted by art schools, production companies, film institutions, independent artists, and other qualified individuals.
The online submission process:
The festival accepts submissions through FilmFreeway.
The Festival does not charge any submission fees. Applicants are responsible for postal service costs and procurement of materials.
Eligibility:
Films submitted for the official competition can be finished in any animation technique, completed after January 1st, 2023, and must not have been previously entered at ASF.
Works should be registered in one of the following categories to compete:
Short animation films
Animated films for kids
Formats:
Submitted films for the official competition must be provided in full HD (minimum resolution 1920x1080, video format H.264). The Festival does not accept 35 mm, BetacamSP, or any other tape format as a screening copy.
The art director (selector of the Festival), together with the Board of the Festival, will nominate submitted films for the official selection.
The deadline for submitting applications and materials is October 31, 2024.
Applicants are required to provide an official English translation of the submitted films.
The Macedonian International Animation Festival “Animax Skopje Fest 2024” will have a jury appointed by the Organizer, which will award the following prizes:
GRAND PRIX / Golden Brick
Second Prize / Silver Brick
Third Prize / Bronze Brick
for each festival category.
Prizes not included in the Festival Statute may be awarded by private donors, institutions, and organizations.
Films selected for the official competition may be shown more than three times during the Festival.
Entrants agree to grant the Festival the rights to use parts of the films for promotional materials, Festival publications (printed materials, websites, etc.), and for Festival promotion in all media, including TV screenings related to the Festival.
Producers of the films in the official competition agree to allow additional non commercial screenings of their films for free after the completion of the Festival, both in Macedonia and abroad, as part of the festival program promotion.
Submitting a film to the Festival implies acceptance of the Festival Statutes.
The organizers will decide on any matters not included in the Festival Statutes.
