Abinadi Meza (MX/US) is a Hñähñu artist, filmmaker, and composer. He is a Fellow of the American Academy in Rome (FAAR). His practice, Elemental Cinema, utilizes cameraless 16mm film processes and electronic sound mass to treat the substrate as a tactile, metabolic document.
Meza’s films are distributed by the Film-Makers’ Cooperative (New York) and have screened at Anthology Film Archives, Cineteca Nacional de México, FACT Liverpool, and MCA Santa Barbara. They have been featured in expanded cinema presentations by Public Art Fund. International festival highlights include Kasseler Dokfest, Punto y Raya, Crossroads, BISFF, Antimatter, and RPM. His live sound performances and installations have been presented at the Walker Art Center, MAXXI, and the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA).
