The AGH Film Festival has been Hamilton's largest showcase of cinema and has grown to become one of the largest film festivals in Ontario. The festival's mandate is to present critical and innovative cinema to our community and provide a high profile platform to emerging voices, social issues and communities. It is also our mandate to support artists by paying minimum IMAA screening fees to all films that screen as part of our festival.

PLEASE NOTE: In 2022, the Art Gallery of Hamilton will be taking a big step in the evolution of our fall Festival, with the goal of intensifying the regional and multi-disciplinary connections which have made past Festivals so resonant. The Festival will expand its focus beyond film to include cultural practices such as visual art, performance, craft, and other creative genres. In Hamilton’s culturally distinct presentation spaces and within the AGH, the Festival will stage concerts, films, parties, pop-ups and workshops which will build unforgettable connective experiences and echo the integral exhibitions and collection items on display in the Gallery.

You truly see their team's passion for sharing meaningful, inclusive content, as well as their attention and care for each film selected, despite restrictions due to COVID-19. It was an absolute pleasure to communicate with their team and to screen with AGHFF. We will definitely be submitting our future documentaries to this festival.
