The 1 Minute AI Film Festival Aotearoa is an exciting event designed to create a buzz and increase engagement among rangatahi (youth), especially students in the creative sectors.

The festival, supported by NZ On Air, NZ Film Commission and Te Māngai Pāho, is being run as part of the AI in Creative Industries Summit ‘Creatives are taking over the World!’ on 19 May 2025 at Te Puna Creative Hub in Auckland, New Zealand.

The Summit aims to explore how artificial intelligence is being adopted and used in the creative industries, and to provide a platform to allow us to engage in the hard conversations about how AI is impacting creativity and culture globally in a positive context.

Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to be part of the future of creativity!

Celebrating the work of our creatives, especially rangatahi, entrants work will be shown on the big screen at this industry event, gaining exposure to industry professionals they wouldn't normally have access to.

Festival finalists, as chosen by judges from industry, will be featured throughout the day at Te Puna with the audience vote deciding the overall winner.

Prizes will be invaluable things like mentorship, recognition and experiences at studios and creative hubs (to be confirmed when the winner's location is known).
