YOKOHAMA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

We are pleased to announce the call for submissions for the 4th Yokohama International Film Festival.
The festival invites submissions in two categories: (1) Competition Section and (2) Showcase Section.
Please review the detailed submission requirements for each category below before applying.

※ Please note that the entry fees and requirements differ between (1) Competition Section and (2) Showcase Section.

(1) Competition Section (Domestic / International Films)

Eligible Works: Films produced in 2020 or later
Award Eligibility: Applicants must be available to attend the awards ceremony on Saturday, May 2, 2026

*In principle, submission of the complete film is required. However, if the film is not yet completed, entry with a trailer alone is permitted.

Important Notes for Showcase Section (Short / Feature Films)
*Films with cast members available to attend the Red Carpet ceremony scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 3:00 PM will be given priority in the selection process. Final selection decisions will be made by the festival office based on the total number and quality of submissions.

*For stage greetings accompanying screenings, we request the attendance of at least one representative, such as a cast member, director, or producer.

Process After Selection
1, The festival office will notify you of your selection.
2, You will be required to submit a participation agreement and film information.
3, You will be required to deliver screening materials in DCP format to the designated location.
4, You will be required to deliver film posters in the specified size to the designated location.

2. Submission Requirements
Eligibility: Films must meet the following conditions:

2-1. Running Time:
Showcase Section (Feature): 40 minutes or longer
Showcase Section (Short): 40 minutes or less
Competition Section (Domestic & International): 40 minutes or longer

2-2. Rights:
The applicant, director, or producer must hold the appropriate screening rights and ensure there are no obstacles to screening at the festival.

2-3. Liability:
The festival assumes no responsibility for any disputes arising from rights infringement or damage claims related to submitted films.
*Films that have not been publicly screened in Japanese theaters, broadcast on Japanese television, or distributed online before May 1, 2026 will be designated as premiere films. (Premiere films will be given priority in the selection process.)
*The festival office reserves the right to make final determinations regarding the application of these conditions.
*Films from OTT (streaming) platforms are eligible for submission.

5. Selection
Film selection will be conducted and finalized by the festival office, including the Programming Director.

6. Post-Selection Process
6-1. Selection Notification and Screening
a. Selected films will be promptly notified to the applicant and announced on the festival's official website.
b. Unless specifically authorized in writing by the festival office, films selected as premiere screenings may not be screened or broadcast prior to the closing date of this festival.

6-2. Screening and Promotional Materials
a. Applicants of selected films must provide the following materials to the designated address by the specified deadline. All shipping costs will be borne by the applicant.
・Screening materials in the original language version (refer to Section 6-4 for subtitle requirements)
・Original language script and English subtitle script (not required if original language is Japanese)
・Poster data
・Trailer materials
・Film information in English and Japanese, several still images, and director's photo
b. A separate form for submitting film information will be sent to applicants of films that pass the screening process.

6-3. Publicity
For films that pass the screening, the data and publicity materials provided in the form will be used on this film festival's website, in newspapers, magazines, television, and other media, with the applicant's consent.

6-4. Subtitles
a. In principle, official screenings will be conducted in the original language version. Films in English or other languages will be screened with Japanese subtitles only (*1), while films in Japanese will be screened with English subtitles (*2). The organizers reserve the right to make final determinations regarding the application of this provision.
b. Translation and production of Japanese subtitles will be at the expense of the applicant.
*1: Films in English or other languages must include Japanese subtitles.
*2: Films in Japanese should include English subtitles if possible.

7. Film Screening
7-1. Theatrical Screening
a. Selected films will be screened as part of the festival program at the festival venue with admission fees.
b. Free screenings may be arranged according to the applicant's preferences.

7-2. Screening Materials
a. Selected films must send screening materials in the designated format to the theater specified by the festival. All shipping costs will be borne by the applicant.
b. Files must be provided in DCP (Digital Cinema Package) format.
*In unavoidable circumstances, Blu-ray delivery may be permitted upon consultation with the festival office.

8. Additional Terms
8-1. Authorization for Promotional Use
a. By submitting a selected film, the applicant authorizes the festival to use excerpts of the film (up to 10% of the total running time) and submitted materials such as film images for promotional purposes.

8-2. Agreement
a. We will not accept any inquiries or objections regarding selection criteria or reasons for rejection.
b. Once a film has been selected, withdrawal of submission or cancellation of screening will not be accepted for any reason.
c. By applying via FilmFreeway, the applicant is deemed to have fully understood and agreed to all submission requirements, terms, and conditions. (Applicants are advised to carefully review these terms before applying.)
d. The organizers assume no responsibility for loss, damage, or other incidents that occur before the festival office receives the submitted materials.
e. All matters not covered by these terms and conditions will be determined by the Festival Executive Committee and festival office.

10. Jury Committee
10-1. Composition
The jury committee, which reviews selected films, consists of 3 to 5 jury members selected by the festival office.
10-2. Privacy Policy
Personal information submitted will be used solely for the purpose of organizing the festival and will not be used for any other purpose.
10-3. Governing Language
The Japanese version of these terms and conditions takes precedence in all matters. Submission to this festival signifies acceptance and adherence to these terms. The festival office reserves the right to make determinations regarding the application of these terms and any matters not specified herein.

※本映画祭への出品につきまして、2026年5月2日（土）15:00〜実施予定のレッドカーペットに、キャストの方にご登壇いただける場合、優先的に選出させていただきます。最終的な出品の可否につきましては、応募総数および応募状況を踏まえたうえで、事務局にて判断させていただきます。

※上映に伴う舞台挨拶につきましては、キャスト、監督、プロデューサーなど、どなたかのご登壇を希望しております。

【審査通過後の流れ】
1. 事務局から審査通過の連絡を行います。
2. 参加同意書と作品情報を提出していただきます。
3. 上映素材を指定の場所にDCP形式で納品していただきます。
4. 作品のポスターを指定の場所に指定の大きさで納品していただきます。

1. 開催概要

　※コンペティション部門のみ2026年1月24日（土）までの募集となります。

2. 応募条件
応募資格：次の条件を満たしていること。
　2-1. ショーケース部門長編作品は40分以上、ショーケース部門短編作品は40分以内の作品であること。
　　　コンペティション部門（日本作品、海外作品）は40分以上の作品であること。
　2-2. 応募者または監督、プロデューサーのいずれかが上映に際する権利を有し、本映画祭での上映にあたっての支障がないこと。
　2-3. 応募作品に関する権利侵害や損害賠償などに関して生じた紛争について、映画祭は一切の責任を負わない。

　※日本の劇場又はテレビ放映、オンライン配信などで、2026年5月1日以前に一般上映されていない作品である場合は、プレミア作品として選定させていただきます。（プレミア作品は本選考において優先されます。）
　※条件の適用については、事務局が最終的に決定する。
　※OTT（動画配信サービス）の映画も対象とします。

4. 応募方法
　FilmFreewayより申し込みをする。

5. 選考
　作品の選考はプログラミング・ディレクターを含む事務局によって行われ、最終決定される。

6. 出品決定後の流れ
　6-1. 決定通知・出品
　　a. 審査を通過した作品については、速やかに応募者に通知する。また、映画祭公式サイトにて発表する。
　　b. 事務局が特別に書面で許可した場合を除き、プレミアで出品となる作品は、作品を本映画祭閉幕日以前に、上映・放映することはできない。

　6-2. 上映および広報素材
　　a. 審査を通過した作品の出品者は、以下の素材を事務局が指定する送り先、期日までに送付すること。その送付に伴う経費は作品側の負担とする。
　　　i. オリジナル原語版の上映素材（6-4. 字幕項目を要参照）
　　　ii. 原語台本、英語字幕台本（原語が日本語の場合は不要）
　　　iii. ポスターデータ
　　　iv. 予告編素材
　　　v. 英語および日本語による作品資料、スチール数点、監督写真
　　b. 審査を通過した作品の出品者には、別途で作品情報を提出していただくフォームをお送りします。

　6-3. 広報
　審査を通過した作品に関しては、応募者の同意の上、フォームに記載されたデータ及び広報素材を本映画祭のサイトや新聞、雑誌、テレビなどの媒体で活用するものとする。

　6-4. 字幕
　　a. 「上映」は原則としてオリジナル原語版（日本語および英語字幕付き）で公式上映される。ただし原語が英語または英語以外の場合は日本語字幕のみ（※1）、原語が日本語の場合は英語字幕付き（※2）で上映される。本条項の適用については主催者側が最終決定する。
　　b. 日本語字幕の翻訳・制作は、作品側の負担で行われる。
　　※1：原語が英語または英語以外の場合は、日本語字幕を必須で付けてください。　　　　※2：原語が日本語の場合は、可能であれば英語字幕を付けてください。

7. 作品の上映について
　7-1. 劇場での上映
　　a. 審査を通過した作品は、映画祭構成プログラムとして本映画祭会場にて有料上映される。
　　b. 出品者の意向に沿っては、無料上映も可能とする。

　7-2. 上映素材
　　a. 審査を通過した作品は、指定の形式で上映素材を、映画祭側が指定する劇場に送付する。郵送に伴う費用（送料等）については、すべて作品側の負担とする。
　　b. ファイル形式は、「DCP」のフォーマットで送付すること。
　　※やむを得ない場合には、事務局と協議のうえブルーレイでの納品を認める場合があります。

8. その他
　8-1. 広報目的利用の承認
　　a. 審査を通過した作品は、映画祭がその作品の一部（作品総尺の10%以下）および、作品画像などの提出物を、映画祭の広報目的に利用することを認めるものとする。

　8-2. 了解事項
　　a. 選考内容及び落選の理由等についての質問、異議申し立ては一切受付いたしません。
　　b. 出品決定後は、いかなる理由があっても応募取り下げ、上映の取り消しには応じられません。
　　c. 応募者は、FilmFreewayからのお申し込みにより、全ての応募条件、規約、事項を完全に理解し、それを承諾したものとみなします。（応募者は本規約をよくご確認のうえ、ご応募ください。）
　　d. 応募作品の映画祭事務局受領時までの紛失、破損などの事故に関しては、主催者側は責任を負いません。
　　e. 本規約外の事項に関しては、全て本映画祭実行委員会、事務局が決定します。

10. 審査委員会について
　10-1. 上映作品を審査する審査委員会は3〜5名の審査委員で構成され、映画祭事務局によって選定される。
　10-2. 個人情報の取り扱いについて 提出された個人情報については、映画祭開催の目的のみに使用し、本目的以外には使用しない。
　10-3. 効力・本規約は日本語版が全てに優先する。本映画祭に応募・出品することは、この規約の承認と遵守を意味する。当規約の適用、また当規約に規定されていない事項については、事務局が裁定する。
