Youth film festival (MLADINSKI FILMSKI FESTIVAL) for short films by authors up to the age of 25, located in the heart of the Balkans in Skopje, Macedonia.

Youth Film Festival is an independent film festival whose goal is to bring together the short films of young authors, where filmmakers from across the globe will be able to see their creations and compare their work with their peers.

The festival has 3 programs:
- Home program (only for authors from Macedonia).
- Documentary shorts – for short documentary films.
- Short fiction – for short fiction films.

The festival will be held in the beautiful yard of the Cinematheque of North Macedonia, in the “A Quite Summer” cinema. The programs will be alternately distributed in 2 day period, 15 films altogether. The festival night will be finished off with 1 local musical act.

The third issue of YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL Skopje will take place at the outdoor cinema of the Cinematheque of North Macedonia on 29. august - 1. september 2024

Film Submission Rules

The entries must comply to the following conditions:
- Short film
- By an author not over the age of 25 (according to the release date of the film)
- Fiction or documentary

- Only the authors of the selected films will be notified.
- The selected films will be announced no later than the 5th of August 2024.

Submission

1. Films may be submitted electronically via FilmFreeway only.
2. The submission deadline is July 15th 2024.
3. NO entry fee
4. The author who enters a film gives permission to screen the film during the Festival and during other events promoting the Festival arranged by the organizer with no screening fees.
5. The festival reserves the right to invite a film which was not submitted to the festival.

Film copies

1. The film copies (selected films) should be sent electronically via an online link.
2. The films should have English subtitles and will be screened with, both, Macedonian and English subtitles.

Submitting a film to Youth Film Festival Skopje means accepting all of the conditions listed above.

    The Youth Film Festival communicated real well after my official selection and kept me up to date. They shared my short on social media and promoted the whole festival really well! Sadly couldn't attend, that's why i can't review the hospitality and networking, but from what i've seen the venue looked great and a lot of people attended. Overall super great experience and i would 100% submit again!
