The Williamsburg International Film Festival, voted a top 10 film festival by MovieMaker Magazine, is proud to be celebrating its tenth anniversary. WILLiFEST spotlights independent filmmakers from around the world. We encourage you to submit your work and join us in New York City for a professional festival.

In addition to premieres, the festival features film selections from a multitude of categories as well as Screenplay, Commercial and Soundtrack competitions. This year we introduce the TV/Web Episode Competition and the Film/TV/Web Trailer Competition. Submit your TV or web pilot or episode with a running time of up to 60 minutes in length. Submit your trailer with a running time of up to 4 minutes. Winning trailer will play at the festival during a Saturday night screening. Competition winners are always invited to attend the festival with full festival passes, so bring your co-writer, producer, friend or family member.

Many of the films screened at WILLiFEST have gone on to have theatrical releases, broadcasts on PBS and other media outlets, and to be nominated and awarded at the American Academy Awards.

All accepted filmmakers and competition winners are provided with full festival passes for entry into every screening and event we offer this year. Award winners will be featured on our website.

We are happy to accept your online submissions. We are now a green-compliant, paperless event.

Foreign language work must be subtitled in English. Music Videos, TV/Web Episodes, Commercials and Soundtracks do not have a completion date requirement.

WILLiFEST is an HD projection festival utilizing the latest file-based server technology. We request exhibition copies of films to be sent to us online through file transfer sites like Google Drive or Dropbox. The preferred formats are .MP4 or Apple ProRes formats. All files must conform to 16x9 aspect ratio in 1080p (1920x1080). We can also accept 720p.

What a great experience! The staff was responsive and accommodating to all of our needs. We were in the early block (12:30-2:30pm) on a Saturday morning and our screening had a nice full audience. Would definitely recommend this festival to other film makers and will be submitting new projects in the future.
