1. PURPOSE OF THE VERMIOSE
The festival is dedicated to films which are creative and have a unique sens of storytelling. The idea is to promote emergent and high talented filmmaker and film’s team.
2. MAIN CATEGORIES
The festival is made up of the following main categories :
- Extra short film (up to 2’)
- Super short film (up to 6’)
- Short film (up to 15’)
- Long short film (up to 30’)
- Music Video (up to 10’)
- Beauty film (up to 10’)
All films need English subtitles. The length includes credits.
3. ADDITIONAL CATEGORIES
You must choose a main category first, before submitting to additional categories Additional categories without the main categorie will be not accepted.

4. JURY
Jury is constituted of professional filmmakers and international technicians and artists. No one involved in the production or distribution of a film in competition can be part of the jury. The films presented at the festival are selected under the authority of the team of VERMIOSE. They reserve the right to Judge any case that is not covered by these regulations.
5. SUBMISSION & FEE
We accept all genres and nationalities and language for all international categories. But all films must have English subtitles.
You are allowed to have multiple entries and submit to multiple categories, with the same or different films. Each category requires its own fee. Only projects submitted on FilmFreeway are considered.
Entries are non refundable.
Please check the recommended lengths.
We do not provide free submissions.
We sometimes offer discounts : follow us on Instagram and Facebook.
We do not review movie submissions sent directly to us by email, unless we requested it. We only accept online digital submissions via selected platforms.
Each entry and submission category must have its own submission fee.
Films or pieces submitted to VERMIOSE must be dated from 2 years maximum before the date of the festival.
If you submitted to the wrong category, contact us (there may be a fee).
If selected, you grant VERMIOSE the right to utilize any image, except, titles, words you submitted to us, for promotion purposes.
The festival organizers may refuse any illegal, non-artistic, fake, false, incomplete entries.
Animated short films must submit to short film categories.
We do not accept works in progress.
The films will officially be candidates when movies are submitted on FilmFreeway as an acceptance of the rules of the festival.
6. PARTICIPATION & RIGHTS
Participation in the festival involves the total acceptance of the regulations stated here by the producer, distributor, or its representative.
Each participant guarantees the festival against any action mounted by a third party on the basis of a breach of author’s rights, and does so for each of their works presented. The participants guarantee to have the legal authorization to allow such a distribution and to have released the rights relative to films (including music).
Once selected, no film can be withdrawn from the festival. Please note that withdrawing a submission does not provide a refund.
Handing in a folder of participation acknowledges the consent of this rule. The organizers are not to be held responsible, in case of force majeure, if the competition has to be modified, postponed or canceled.
7. SELECTION & NOTIFICATION
We may announce the first nominees before the notification date. This does not mean the selection is complete, this means we may make a first wave of selection to facilitate attendance.
When you receive the first platform update as a selected submission, that means you are selected, and you get an Official Selection Laurel.
We cannot give each submitter a personal answer regarding their selection.
The selected talents receive an email with a link to the laurel center and all information about the festival.
If you're not selected, your movie status will be updated on FilmFreeway, and the platform will send an automatic notification at due date.
8. COMMUNICATION
All the selected films agree that their titles, screenshots, and posters are allowed to appear in all promotional material (social media, newsletters) and website.
To correctly promote selected films in competition, you need to upload on FilmFreeway :
- a short synopsis
- a biography-filmography and a photo of the director
- posters or any other publicity material (photos)
9. CONFIDENTIALITY
Confidentiality of data collected for registration purposes : by sending your movie, your application on FilmFreeway you accept the rules and regulation.
The data received from the entry forms will never be used for commercial purposes and it will never be passed on to third parties.
This data will simply allow the festival to contact you in case you are selected to participate in VERMIOSE, and send you newsletters or discounts for our next editions.
