UNERHÖRT! is a film festival for MUSIC FILMS based in Hamburg/Germany. In our understanding, music films are films ABOUT music, dealing with music, having music as its main character, so to speak. No boundaries for musical styles nor cinematic formats, because UNERHÖRT! programs want to be a storm of sounds and images and an experience that refers to the cultural and political space in which music and films are created. From there, we want to establish dialogue between filmmakers, musicians and their audiences, and help shape debates as an important link in the chain of communication about the films shown and the music we listen to.

Awards & Prizes

In 2023, all films selected which are not older than three years (production year 2020) will participate in the UNERHÖRT! competition. The award for the best music film at UNERHÖRT! goes with a prize money.

Rules & Terms

The 17th edition of UNERHÖRT! will take place in September 2023.
The closing date for entries is the 1st of June 2023.

UNERHÖRT! can not pay any screening fee to submitted films selected in the final program, but will contribute to travel and accomodation costs of the filmmakers.
