The IMDb qualifying Toronto Film & Script Awards was founded in downtown Toronto by a group of independent filmmakers, writers, cinematographers and actors. Throughout the pandemic, the festival has continued mostly as a virtual event with online screenings and promotions through various media partners.

The mission of the festival committee is to promote and market international and Canadian arthouse independent film projects and create further exposure and publicity for talented artists. The festival is building a strong artistic community of interest around the language of cinema and indie art film professionals and film lovers, in the heart of one of the most interesting emergent capitals of arts and culture.

The festival seeks international and Canadian features, shorts and screenplays. We look for unconventional auteur-driven films made with a personal voice and style. Simply put – we're looking for the next generation Art House!
