The mission of IMDb qualifying Toronto Film and Script Awards is to promote international arthouse film projects for indie artists from all over the world. Every edition, the winners are announced and promoted through various film magazines in Canada. The festival is building a strong online community of interest around international independent film professionals and film lovers, in the heart of one of the most interesting emergent capitals of arts and culture. At its heart, art is about celebrating the unique voice and message that we each possess. Sometimes loud, often quiet, occasionally bold and brash, and perhaps even shy, that singular voice should speak to others and by doing so, help them to better see themselves. The fest is designed to support filmmakers regardless of their budgets, this prestigious festival celebrates the best of contemporary independent filmmaking. We focus on international independent film and script projects of all genres. The festival seeks to promote, award and screen independent arthouse international and Canadian features, shorts and screenplays.

  • Very honored that one of my screenplays was a winner or selection in this competition. As a message to all aspiring writers, since June of 2021, four of my screenplays have won more than 50 awards all over the planet including New York, Paris, London and Los Angeles. However, not a single agent, manager or production company has reached out. The laurels and trophies are nice, but unless one is willing to wait a year for results and win one of the 3 or 4 ‘biggies’, it appears we are simply treading water. Good luck writers!
