Hollywood Silver Screen Festival is an IMDb-qualified annual festival with live film screenings, guest and speaker panels, small group breakout sessions, and networking parties in Los Angeles, CA. The award ceremony features art, fashion, a beauty pageant, music, and dance showcases.

Among our patrons are many Oscar and Emmy winners, studio executives, and industry VIPs. We are honored to have screened films that go on to win Oscars and other reputable awards. Many of our participants reported having gained valuable connections, jobs, and important career opportunities from the festival. Again, we believe in building the community. Here was one of our past events: https://hollywoodsilverscreen.com/hssf19/

Our goal is to build a community and have a festival where people are there to be a part of the community. We do not encourage filmmakers who only turn up if their films are screened. As a result, we choose not to notify our official selections until after the festival and we do not ever provide a list of which films are screened. We do realize that this is unusual but we believe in what we do and as a result, over the years, we now have a supportive community who turn up and fill the theater, whether their films are screened or not. We want to make this very clear upfront in our festival listing and do not encourage filmmakers who randomly submit to any festivals without understanding what each festival represents.

This year, the Hollywood Silver Screen Festival boldly worked on a topic that I thought was quite clever and coincided with World Parental Alienation Day. This pre-planned approach was very respectable to me.
The public relations and attitude of the festival officials was also respectable to me. As an independent international distributor, I want to thank Hollywood Silver Screen!

I was informed at 4:00 pm on Oct. 13, 2019 -- WHICH WAS WHILE THE HOLLYWOOD SILVER SCREEN FESTIVAL 2019 WAS IN PROGRESS -- that my film was selected to be part of the Official Program for Hollywood Silver Screen Festival 2019.

I asked why I was notified of acceptance basically after-the-fact, and still haven't received a response. I don't know whether the Festival or FilmFreeway is responsible, but this was a lost opportunity and extremely unprofessional.
