1. FECHA Y LUGAR DEL CONCURSO: Del 25 al 31 de Octubre de 2026, en la ciudad de Bogotá, Colombia.
2. FECHA DE RECEPCIÓN: Desde el 18 de enero al 31 de agosto de 2026, estará dividido en tres plazos: Earlybird Deadline (del 18 de enero al 4 de Febrero de 2026), Regular Deadline (del 5 de febrero 31 de Julio de 2026) y Extendido Deadline (del 1 al 31 de Agosto de 2026).
3. FECHA DE NOTIFICACIÓN DE SELECCIÓN OFICIAL Y LANZAMIENTO DEL FESTIVAL DE CINE: La notificación de las películas seleccionadas para el festival de cine será el 25 de Septiembre de 2026 por correo electrónico. El lanzamiento del Festival y la presentación de la Selección Oficial a la prensa y diferentes medios será en julio, junto con el anuncio de aliados, patrocinadores, lugar de proyección, socios, la imagen oficial, tráiler y jurado.
4. CATEGORÍAS Y COSTOS DEL CONCURSO: El FESTIVAL DE CINE se dividirá en las siguientes categorías:
- Sci-Fi: Películas del género Sci-Fi; incluyendo subgéneros como distopía, postapocalipsis, space opera, ciberpunk, entre otros.
- Terror: Películas de terror, thriller o suspenso, y películas de ciencia ficción y fantasía donde el terror está al servicio de estos géneros; incluyendo subgéneros como fantasías oscuras, monstruos, vampiros y hombres lobo, sobrenatural, vigilancia, zombis, cine negro, thriller de acción, thriller de conspiración, thriller político, espías, entre otros.
- Fantasía: Películas de fantasía y género western; incluyendo subgéneros como cuentos de hadas, épicas, fantasía moderna, realismo mágico, fantasía urbana, fantasía científica, steampunk, western spaghetti, western moderno, entre otros.
- Experimental: Películas de Sci-Fi, terror y fantasía que utilizan elementos experimentales en la obra.
- Videoclip: Videos musicales creados para bandas, orquestas o solistas que tengan temas de Sci-Fi, terror y fantasía como eje central de la narración del video.
- Nacional: Películas y videos musicales de Sci-Fi, terror, fantasía y experimental que hayan sido filmados, producidos, postproducidos en Colombia o cuyos directores tengan nacionalidad colombiana.
Estas diferentes categorías se dividirán en las siguientes categorías de inscripción (se dividen según la duración de las películas). Estos son los precios por plazo:
- Feature Film (Sci-Fi, Terror or Fantasy): 5 USD (Earlybird Deadline) / 15 USD (Regular Deadline) / 20 USD (Extended Deadline)
- Short Film (Sci-Fi, Terror, Fantasy or Experimental): 5 USD (Earlybird Deadline) / 10 USD (Regular Deadline) / 15 USD (Extended Deadline)
- Feature Film (Colombia Production): 5 USD (Earlybird Deadline) / 8 USD (Regular Deadline) / 15 USD (Extended Deadline)
- Short Film (Colombia Production): Gratis (Earlybird Deadline) / 5 USD (Regular Deadline) / 10 USD (Extended Deadline)
- VideoClip (Sci-Fi, Terror or Fantasy): 5 USD (Earlybird Deadline) / 8 USD (Regular Deadline) / 10 USD (Extended Deadline)
Si el equipo curatorial o el jurado consideran que una película presentada encaja mejor en una categoría diferente a la presentada, podrán moverla sin previo aviso y no se aceptarán reclamaciones de los participantes. El Festival de Cine SFTF es un Festival Pro de Festhome y Gold de Filmfreeway, por lo que encontrarás descuentos si formas parte de estas selecciones.
5. PREMIOS: Se entregarán los siguientes premios:
- Mejor Largometraje
- Mejor Cortometraje SCI-FI
- Mejor Cortometraje FANTASÍA
- Mejor Cortometraje TERROR
- Mejor Cortometraje EXPERIMENTAL
- Mejor Videoclip
Los ganadores recibirán un trofeo o regalo que se entregará en la Ceremonia de Premiación a los cineastas presentes; si el cineasta no está presente en la ceremonia, deberá pagar los costos de envío.
6. OBRAS PARTICIPANTES: Películas de todo el mundo pueden participar. Si la película está en inglés o en un idioma diferente, se requerirán subtítulos en español. Se dará prioridad a los estrenos nacionales, continentales y mundiales al momento de realizar la selección oficial, sin embargo, no es un requisito que la película no haya sido estrenada en Colombia.
7. DURACIÓN:
- Cortometrajes: Obras de 1 minuto hasta 35 minutos de duración (Incluyendo los créditos)
- Largometrajes: Obras de más de 70 minutos sin límite de tiempo.
8. INSCRIPCIÓN: Los postulantes deben registrarse en FestHome y completar la inscripción correspondiente.
9. ENVÍO DE OBRAS: Para el envío de las obras, debes cargar la copia digital de la película en alta definición (.MOV, .MP4, Compresor H.264 o ProRes 422) en una nube virtual (Dropbox, PCloud, Google Drive, etc.) y enviar por correo electrónico el enlace de descarga. Al mismo tiempo, debes adjuntar el documento donde otorgas el permiso de exhibición de tu obra.
10. RECONOCIMIENTO: Habrá una entrega de reconocimientos oficiales (certificados de Selección Oficial) a las obras seleccionadas en cada categoría después de ser anunciadas. Los laureles se enviarán para los kits de prensa y carteles, igualmente, después de finalizado el Festival de Cine, se enviará un certificado por tu participación en el FESTIVAL.
11. REQUISITOS: El video en alta definición de las películas seleccionadas. En caso de ser seleccionado, el postulante debe colocar el laurel del FESTIVAL en el póster o banner.
12. CONDICIONES DE PARTICIPACIÓN: Por el hecho de realizar la inscripción, los cineastas de las películas elegidas como Selección Oficial aceptan que sus películas serán exhibidas en las diferentes actividades enmarcadas en el desarrollo del FESTIVAL en la edición de 2026. Además, se podrán utilizar extractos de imágenes de las películas con fines promocionales del FESTIVAL a través de los medios de comunicación. El material enviado no será devuelto y pasará a formar parte de la BIBLIOTECA DEL FESTIVAL. El FESTIVAL no se hace responsable de infracciones relacionadas con los derechos de autor, siendo esta responsabilidad de quien envía la obra.
13. EL JURADO: El Jurado estará compuesto por cineastas especializados. El jurado será anunciado en julio junto con el anuncio de la Selección Oficial del festival. El Jurado elegirá a los ganadores de todas las categorías principales. La decisión del jurado será inapelable.

The Festival launch and the presentation of the Official Selection to the press and different media outlets will take place in July, together with the announcement of partners, sponsors, screening venue, associates, the official image, trailer and jury.
4. CATEGORIES AND FEES OF THE COMPETITION: The FILM FESTIVAL will be divided into the following categories:
- Sci-Fi: Films of the Sci-Fi genre; including subgenres such as dystopia, post-apocalypse, space opera, cyberpunk, among others.
- Terror: Terror, thriller or suspense films, and science fiction and fantasy films where terror is at the service of these genres; including subgenres such as dark fantasy, monsters, vampires and werewolves, supernatural, surveillance, zombies, film noir, action thriller, conspiracy thriller, political thriller, spies, among others.
- Fantasy: Fantasy and western genre films; including subgenres such as fairy tales, epics, modern fantasy, magical realism, urban fantasy, science fantasy, steampunk, spaghetti western, modern western, among others.
- Experimental: Sci-Fi, terror and fantasy films that use experimental elements in the work.
- Videoclip: Music videos created for bands, orchestras or solo artists that have Sci-Fi, terror and fantasy themes as the central axis of the video narrative.
- National: Sci-Fi, terror, fantasy and experimental films and music videos that have been filmed, produced or post-produced in Colombia or whose directors have Colombian nationality.
These different categories will be divided into the following submission categories (divided according to film length). These are the prices per deadline:
- Feature Film (Sci-Fi, Terror or Fantasy): 5 USD (Earlybird Deadline) / 15 USD (Regular Deadline) / 20 USD (Extended Deadline)
- Short Film (Sci-Fi, Terror, Fantasy or Experimental): 5 USD (Earlybird Deadline) / 10 USD (Regular Deadline) / 15 USD (Extended Deadline)

If the curatorial team or the jury considers that a submitted film fits better in a different category than the one entered, they may move it without prior notice and no claims from participants will be accepted. The SFTF Film Festival is a Festhome Pro Festival and FilmFreeway Gold Festival, so you will find discounts if you are part of these selections.
5. AWARDS: The following awards will be presented:
- Best Feature Film
- Best SCI-FI Short Film
- Best FANTASY Short Film
- Best TERROR Short Film
- Best EXPERIMENTAL Short Film
- Best Videoclip
The winners will receive a trophy or gift that will be delivered at the Awards Ceremony to the filmmakers present; if the filmmaker is not present at the ceremony, they must cover the shipping costs.
6. PARTICIPATING WORKS: Films from all over the world may participate. If the film is in English or in a different language, Spanish subtitles will be required. Priority will be given to national, continental and world premieres at the time of making the official selection; however, it is not a requirement that the film has not been released in Colombia.
7. DURATION:
- Short films: Works from 1 minute up to 35 minutes in length (including credits)
- Feature films: Works longer than 70 minutes with no time limit.
8. SUBMISSION: Applicants must register on FestHome and complete the corresponding submission.
9. SUBMISSION OF WORKS: To submit works, you must upload the high-definition digital copy of the film (.MOV, .MP4, H.264 Compressor or ProRes 422) to a virtual cloud (Dropbox, PCloud, Google Drive, etc.) and send the download link by email. At the same time, you must attach the document granting permission to exhibit your work.
10. RECOGNITION: There will be an official recognition ceremony (Official Selection certificates) for the works selected in each category after they are announced. Laurels will be sent for press kits and posters; likewise, after the Film Festival has ended, a certificate for your participation in the FESTIVAL will be sent.
11. REQUIREMENTS: The high-definition video of the selected films. If selected, the applicant must place the FESTIVAL laurel on the poster or banner.
12. TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION: By submitting an entry, the filmmakers of the films chosen as Official Selection accept that their films will be screened in the different activities framed within the development of the FESTIVAL in the 2026 edition. Additionally, excerpts of images from the films may be used for promotional purposes of the FESTIVAL through the media. The submitted material will not be returned and will become part of the FESTIVAL LIBRARY. The FESTIVAL is not responsible for infringements related to copyright, this being the responsibility of the person who submits the work.
13. THE JURY: The Jury will be composed of specialized filmmakers. The jury will be announced in July together with the announcement of the Official Selection of the festival. The Jury will choose the winners of all main categories. The jury’s decision will be final.
