THIS IS A LIVE WRITING COMPETITION held in-person in Los Angeles on Saturday, July 16th.
We are looking for LA-based writers.
$10 to submit. $50 prize going to first place and 3 months of Filmocracy Festival Premium membership ($99 value) to all finalists.
Filmocracy is looking for both up-and-coming and accomplished screenwriters based in LA who want to gain exposure and show off their talent to the filmmaking community!
- Contestants will have 1 hour to write a short scene based on a prompt to be provided at the beginning of the event. The audience members will be observing the writers write while chatting amongst themselves.
- Each contestant will be seated at a featured position and their screens will be projected as they embark on their writing process.
- Everyone else will be witnessing the creative process unfold amongst the contestants!
- Once the hour is over, the judges and audience will vote for the top 3 scripts and then we'll launch into our table read with our panel of actors to perform a table read of the scenes.
- Once all of the scenes have been presented, attendees and judges will be asked to vote on their favorites to decide on a winner!
