Rules and Terms for Submission

Submission Eligibility and Rights
The Redeemer's International Christian Film Festival (RICFF) is open to all filmmakers, including individuals, churches, and outreach organizations, who create content that aligns with Christian values and is designed to glorify God. By submitting your film or project, you grant RICFF the right to download a digital copy of your project for screening during the festival, promotional purposes, and outreach activities. However, you retain full ownership of your project.

Content Guidelines
All submissions must uphold Christian values and be family-friendly. The content should be uplifting and inspiring, avoiding explicit or inappropriate material. Nudity, sexual content, racial slurs, offensive language, and extreme violence are strictly prohibited. Horror films or projects with graphic violence will not be accepted.

Film Length and Format
Projects must adhere to the specified duration for each category. Screenplays for films that have already been produced are not eligible for submission under the screenplay category. Films made in languages other than English must include English subtitles.

Submission Process and Acceptance
RICFF reserves the right to reject any submission that does not comply with the festival's guidelines or content requirements. Please review the instructions carefully before submitting your film, as there will be no refunds once the submission is processed.

Awards and Prizes
Prizes and awards will be determined based on the number of entries, donations, and sponsorship received by RICFF. While all submissions are welcome, not all films will be screened at the festival. Award categories will include Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, and others, with prizes and recognition given to the films that best embody the values of the festival.

It is a wonderful initiative to provide a platform for Christian creatives to showcase their God-given talents and be recognised for their work. May God continue to bless and expand the vision of the Redeemer's International Christian Film Festival.

One challenge I encountered was communication. My music video, Oluwaseun Odewole – AIKU (The Living One), was requested for screening at the festival, but unfortunately, the email address provided for correspondence was no longer active. I eventually managed to make contact by locating a phone number through the festival's Instagram page.

To the glory of God, my song was nominated for an award in the short music video category. Although it did not win, simply being nominated was a great honour and encouragement to me, and I sincerely appreciate the panel for recognising my work.

One suggestion for future editions would be to improve communication with nominees. It would be encouraging for nominees to receive updates regarding the outcome of the awards, details of when the ceremony will take place, and, where possible, a link to watch the event if it is being streamed or recorded. While the photos shared on social media looked wonderful, receiving this information directly would help nominees feel more connected to the event and celebrate alongside everyone else.

Additionally, I would greatly appreciate receiving a formal letter of acknowledgement or nomination confirmation from the organisers stating that Oluwaseun Odewole submitted her work and was recognised as a nominee in her award category. This would serve as an official record of my participation and recognition, and would be something I would truly value as part of my artistic and ministry portfolio.

If this is possible, kindly send it to oluwaseunadedeji431@gmail.com

Overall, I am grateful for the opportunity and appreciate all the effort that goes into organising such an impactful festival. I look forward to submitting future projects, God willing.

God bless the Redeemer's International Christian Film Festival.

  • Blessed to be part of this ambitious first-year festival and have our Nigerian Premiere there - with "Game On // The Love 愛 Project" from Japan. The festival is clearly doing their best to make the event large and memorable, which is not easy. And every well-intended and inspirational faith-based film festival that doesn't charge high fees has my true respect.

Minor, but important feedback - is that when film / media file delivery was requested by the festival (via FilmFreeway message), the official email connected to the listing / message was not receiving emails from us (to send a message back), and the website wasn't working as an alternate option. So - myself (and perhaps other filmmakers?) was at a loss of how to respond to the FilmFreeway message request, or how to properly deliver movie files, with only a few days remaining prior to coming event date.

Fortunately, I found another email address on Facebook (sent links there), and sent the delivery links via FB Message as well - though I didn't get a confirmation about them receiving media - but this was the best I could do with the circumstances. So, we don't know what happened.

Film festival coordination is very challenging and demanding, so I hope next year will be even smooth, and truly blessed. The photos / presentation looked amazing on social media, and would have been nice to see how the films were represented via photos or on the website. God bless Redeemer's International Christian Film Festival, and hope to submit again in the future
