Rêverie is an international short film festival dedicated to memory, remembrance, and personal histories, showcasing emerging filmmakers and first-time directors from around the world.

Selected films will be presented both online and at a live screening event in Barcelona.

Theme:

The festival is dedicated to the theme of Memory.
We welcome all interpretations, including (but not limited to):

Personal memory
Family memory
Historical memory
Collective memory
Migration and displacement
Childhood and coming of age
Archives and preservation
Forgetting and loss
Identity and belonging

Awards & Prizes

All submissions are reviewed by a jury composed of filmmakers, artists, critics, academics, and cultural professionals.

The jury will select a group of finalist films for the festival programme and determine the official selection for screening.

Eligibility

Short films up to 15 minutes in duration
Theme: Memory
Categories: Fiction, Documentary, Animation
The festival is open to international submissions
All films must include English subtitles

Submission

- Submission is done via FilmFreeway
- Each film must be submitted separately
- Submitting a film does not guarantee selection
- Submission fees are non-refundable

Selection Process
- All submissions are reviewed by a jury of 3 members;
- The jury will select a group of finalists and determine the main awards
- During the live screening event, there will also be an Audience Award
Screening
- Selected films will be screened during the festival event in Barcelona on 29 July

The festival may adjust the schedule if necessary due to organisational reasons
Selected filmmakers will be notified in advance

Rights & Permissions

By submitting, filmmakers confirm they hold all necessary rights for their film, including music and images
The festival is granted permission to screen selected films during the official event
The festival may use stills, trailers, and excerpts for promotional purposes related to the event (website, social media, press)

General
The festival team reserves the right to make changes to the programme or schedule if required
The jury’s decisions are final
