"Regard Indépendant sur l'Orient" is the only international short film festival dedicated to celebrate the independent film production in "The Orient " or what is known as "The East".

The festival will be held annually in Paris, France, for 3 nights in order to present these directors to the Parisian and French audience.

The contries eligible are countries situated in Eastern Europe, Asia, and Africa.

Each year the festival will have a special section focusing on one country. This year the festival will focus on Lebanese cinema offering a section dedicated to Lebanese independent short films under "Regard sur le cinéma indépendant libanais".

A special section each year is dedicated to short films co-produced with Europe.

This is not a competition festival. The aim of the festival is to present these independent production to the French and Parisian audience

Super Short films
Films under 5 minutes

Independent and no budget shorts
Films between 5 and 30 minutes, independent productions or made with practically no budget. A film is consider a no/low budget film if the production budget is under 1000euros.

Fiction Shorts
This section is open to films between 5 and 30 minutes, with a production budget exceeding 1000 euros.

Co-Production with Europe
This section is open to any short film between 5 and 30 minutes, made in coproduction with any European country, or during a study program in a European film school.

Alternative and marginalized cinema
This section is open for : Experimental films, horror Films, dance films and silent films from "The Orient" not exceeding 30 minutes duration.

Un Regard
This section is exclusively open for one country from "The Orient". This year this section is open only for Lebanese short films under 30 minutes long.
