My journey began as a law graduate with a passion for storytelling, leading me to the vibrant world of street plays and stage theatre at 19. Transitioning into the realm of daily soap operas in 2012 marked the inception of my career in visual storytelling. However, it was in 2016 that I decided to carve my path by establishing my own production house, where I've since produced eight impactful short films in India and Iran. My educational background includes graduation from the prestigious Creative Mind of Tomorrow program, an initiative by NFDC India.
As the founder and CEO of Ravinder Dhaka Telefilms, I take pride in being the pioneering Indian producer actively engaged in the Iranian film industry for the past five years. Collaborating with esteemed AFA Alumni Hadi Sheibani and Saman Hosseinpour has been instrumental in shaping my journey. Currently, I am eagerly awaiting the release of my latest project, 'Happy End,' directed by the talented Kurdish filmmaker Hossein Firoozeh, which is in its final stages of post-production.
My fascination with Iranian cinema stems from its commitment to portraying realistic narratives that have the power to catalyze positive societal change. Through my work, I aspire to support budding filmmakers with remarkable talent without the necessary financial backing. For me, no compelling story should remain confined to the pages of a script.
The global recognition garnered by my productions, with over 250 international film festival showcases and more than 40 awards, reaffirms the impact of my creative endeavors. However, my journey is far from over. I am driven by a relentless passion to evolve and enhance my understanding of cinema continually.
It is with this mindset that I seek to become part of the esteemed AFA community. The encouragement and insights provided by fellow AFA Alumni have inspired me to pursue further education through the BAFA program. I firmly believe that BAFA offers an unparalleled platform in Asia for honing one's skills and expanding one's horizons in the world of cinema. If granted the opportunity, I am confident that my journey with BAFA will be transformative, both personally and professionally.
