The island is getting ready for another year of the most enjoyable film festival in the heart of Oranjestad, Aruba. Where filmmakers and film lovers come together to celebrate the art of cinema. With different activities in Playa (Oranjestad), the festival will offer an immersive cultural experience: parties, fabulous food, movies, talks and fun.

All films in the official selection will compete in the following categories:
-Kingdom of Shorts Competition:
*Best Kingdom of Shorts Film: Jury & Audience Award
*Best Kingdom of Shorts Director
*Best Kingdom of Shorts Cinematographer
*Best Kingdom of Shorts Actor
*Best Kingdom of Shorts Actress
Open to filmmakers from Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Saba, Sint Eustatius, and the Netherlands. | Fiction shorts only. | Runtime under 15 minutes. | Must not have been shown publicly in Aruba or online.

-Smart Stories Competition:
*Best Smart Stories Film
Open to Aruba residents. | Micro documentary. | Subject: What I love most about my neighborhood. | Requirement: Shot entirely with mobile phone. | Runtime exact one minute.

-Student Documentary Short Film Competition:
*Best Student Documentary Short Film
Open to Aruba residents. | Short documentary. | Subject: The history of my school. | Runtime maximum 5 minutes.

-International Short Film Competition:
*Best International Short Film: Narrative & Documentary
Open to international filmmakers. | Fiction, documentary and animation shorts. | Runtime under 15 minutes. | Must not have been shown publicly in Aruba or online.

Rules & Terms

SCREENING FEE
The festival does not offer screening fees for its films. By submitting through FilmFreeway you are agreeing to NOT request a screening fee as a requirement for your film's participation in the festival, should your film get selected for the program.

WAIVER REQUESTS
Since the festival only requires a nominal entry fee, we will not accept requests for entry fee waivers.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Open to everyone.
- Films made between January 2023 and April 2024 are eligible.
- All non-English language films must have legible English language subtitles.
- We only accept submissions through FilmFreeway.
- We do not accept films that have been publicly screened in Aruba prior to the Film Festival, nor films that are already available on the internet.
- Submission deadlines: Earlybird December 31 2023, Regular February 29 2024 & Late April 30 2024.

EXHIBITION FORMAT
- The exhibition format is MP4.
VIDEO: Codec: H.264 | Frame Rate: 24 / 23.98 | Data Rate: 10.000 - 20.000 Kbits/sec | Resolution: 1080p HD = 1920x1080 px | Aspect Ratio: 16:9.
