Awards & Prizes

The festival does not award cash prizes; all "awarded" authors will be entitled to hotel accommodation. The Festival Management appoints, for each competitive section or groups of sections, an international jury composed of five or more experts in the film industry.

The awards:

- Best Film Award PCF 2024;
- Best Film Award "city of...": the jury assigns a prize for each participating municipality in the network;
- UNITE Award: assigned by a jury of students from the University of Teramo.

In addition, the following special awards are given:

- Unified Voices: Tales of Inclusion: This film award celebrates and promotes social inclusion through the power of cinema, recognizing works that represent human diversity in all its forms and promoting open and inclusive dialogue.
- GreenReel: Award dedicated to works that promote environmental awareness and sustainability through cinema.
- Cinema Among Desks: Reserved for the best films made by schools, encouraging the emerging talent of students.
- AI Innovation Award: Recognition dedicated to films produced with the use of artificial intelligence. This award celebrates innovation in the film industry and acknowledges exceptional creativity and talent in producing films that leverage advanced AI technologies.

The festival management also reserves the right to award special independent prizes to the films presented in competition.

Il festival non assegna premi in denaro; tutti gli autori "premiati" avranno diritto all'ospitalità alberghiera. La Direzione del Festival nomina, per ogni sezione competitiva o per gruppi di sezioni, una giuria internazionale composta da cinque o più esperti del settore cinematografico.

I premi:

- Premio miglior film PCF 2024;
- Premio al miglior film "città di ....": la giuria assegna un premio per ogni comune partecipante della rete;
- Premio UNITE: assegnato da una giuria di studenti dell'Università di Teramo.

- Cinema tra i Banchi: Riservato alle migliori opere cinematografiche realizzate da scuole, incoraggiando il talento emergente degli studenti.
- AI Innovation Award: riconoscimento dedicato ai film prodotti con l'impiego dell'intelligenza artificiale. Questo premio celebra l'innovazione nel settore cinematografico e riconosce l'eccezionale creatività e il talento nella produzione di opere cinematografiche che sfruttano le tecnologie avanzate dell'IA.

La direzione del festival si riserva inoltre di assegnare premi speciali indipendenti alle opere presentate in concorso.

Rules and regulations for the 2024 edition

The Piceno International Cinema Festival is an international film event dedicated to innovation, social inclusion, and sustainability.

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

The competition is open to Italian and international works produced after January 1, 2021.

- Feature Films: This section welcomes various cinematic forms (documentaries, animations, fiction), provided the works exceed 50 minutes in duration.

- Short Films: This section includes works with a duration of less than 50 minutes (including end credits), belonging to various cinematic genres (fiction, documentaries, animations). For the screening of finalist films, subtitles in Italian are required.

AWARDS

The Jury will award the following prizes:

- Best Film Award PCF 2024;
- Best Film Award "city of...": awarded by the jury for each participating municipality in the network;
- UNITE Award: awarded by a jury of students from the University of Teramo;
- Unified Voices: Tales of Inclusion: This award celebrates and promotes social inclusion through the power of cinema, recognizing works that represent human diversity in all its forms and promoting open and inclusive dialogue.
- GreenReel: Award dedicated to works that promote environmental awareness and sustainability through cinema.

PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS, FEES, AND DEADLINES

Entry to the Festival is exclusively granted through the FilmFreeway platform. Multiple films may be submitted by the same individual/company. A fee is required in euros for each submitted film, to be paid according to the instructions on the FilmFreeway portal. The deadline for submissions is May 1, 2024.

Authors, producers, and entities submitting via FilmFreeway are personally responsible for the content of the submitted works and must have fulfilled any third-party copyright obligations.

SELECTED FILMS

The Festival reserves the freedom to select submitted works for one of the aforementioned sections, as well as any newly created sections. Selection is subject to the exclusive judgment of the Festival. Submissions will be informed of the outcome via email. Once an official invitation is accepted, a selected film cannot be withdrawn from the official program.

SCREENING FORMATS

Projection rooms are not equipped with DCP projectors; therefore, only the following formats are accepted: Blu-ray with subtitles (Italian/English, selectable) and digital file of the film with attached .srt file containing subtitles in English and Italian. Selected films will be screened in the original language with Italian subtitles.

GENERAL RULES

Participation in the selection implies full acceptance of the rules and regulations. The Festival Management reserves the right to make decisions on matters not covered in this document. Privacy notice: Personal data transmitted will be processed solely for purposes related to participation in the Festival.

For any disputes, the competent court is that of Ascoli Piceno.

Il Piceno International Cinema Festival è un evento cinematografico internazionale dedicato all’innovazione, all'inclusione sociale e alla sostenibilità.

CONCORSO INTERNAZIONALE

Il concorso è aperto alle opere italiane e internazionali realizzate dopo il 1 gennaio 2021.

- Lungometraggi: Questa sezione accoglie diverse forme cinematografiche (documentari, animazioni, fiction), purché le opere superino i 50 minuti di durata.

- Cortometraggi: Questa sezione include opere di durata inferiore a 50 minuti (compresi i titoli di coda), appartenenti a vari generi cinematografici (fiction, documentari, animazioni). Per la proiezione dei film finalisti, è necessario avere i sottotitoli in italiano.

PREMI

La Giuria assegnerà i seguenti premi:

- Premio miglior film PCF 2024;
- Premio al miglior film "città di ....": assegnato dalla giuria per ogni comune partecipante alla rete;
- Premio UNITE: assegnato da una giuria di studenti dell'Università di Teramo;

La Direzione del Festival si riserva di assegnare premi speciali non attinenti (o concernenti) le opere iscritte al concorso.

CONDIZIONI DI PARTECIPAZIONE QUOTA E TEMPI

L'ingresso al Festival è concesso esclusivamente attraverso la piattaforma FilmFreeway. Più di un film può essere presentato dalla stessa persona/azienda. È richiesto un contributo in euro per ogni film presentato, da versare con le modalità indicate sul portale FilmFreeway. Il termine ultimo per le iscrizioni è il 1 maggio 2024.

Autori, produttori e soggetti che effettuano l'iscrizione su FilmFreeway sono personalmente responsabili del contenuto delle opere inserite e devono aver adempiuto a terzi qualsiasi obbligo derivante dal diritto d'autore.

FILM SELEZIONATI

Il Festival si riserva la libertà di selezionare le opere iscritte per una delle sezioni sopra elencate, nonché per eventuali nuove sezioni create. La selezione è soggetta all'esclusivo giudizio del Festival. Per la proiezione dei film finalisti, è necessario avere i sottotitoli in italiano. I partecipanti alla procedura di selezione saranno informati dell'esito tramite e-mail. Una volta accettato l'invito ufficiale, un film selezionato non può più essere ritirato dal programma ufficiale.

FORMATI DI PROIEZIONE

Le sale di proiezione non sono dotate di proiettore DCP; pertanto, sono ammessi solo i seguenti formati: Blu-ray con sottotitoli (italiano/inglese, selezionabile) e file digitale del film con allegato file .srt contenente sottotitoli in inglese e italiano. I film selezionati saranno proiettati in lingua originale con sottotitoli in italiano.

NORME GENERALI

La partecipazione alla selezione implica l'accettazione integrale delle norme e dei regolamenti. La Direzione del Festival si riserva il diritto di assumere decisioni su materie non previste nel presente atto. Informativa sulla privacy: i dati personali trasmessi saranno trattati esclusivamente per le finalità inerenti la partecipazione al Festival.

Per qualsiasi controversia, il Foro competente è quello di Ascoli Piceno.
