Ojaswwee Sharma is an award-winning Indian Film Director, Producer and Screenwriter. His films and documentaries have received national and international recognition with awards at acclaimed film-festivals globally, bringing glory to India. Hugely appreciated and applauded, the docudrama “Admitted”, directed by Ojaswwee Sharma is the recipient of the ‘Best National Documentary’ by Films Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. Of India at MIFF 2022 Mumbai International Film Festival. Ojaswwee’s work has been recognized by the Media Federation of India in 2022 and Public Relations Council of India in 2021 for his work in films and instilling pride in the community through filming thought provoking, realistic and socially relevant films and showcasing them through public events and film festivals.
Ojaswwee Sharma is best known for writing, producing and directing films, documentaries and campaigns that are socially relevant and rooted to reality. To name a few: Admitted (2020), Zubaan (2018 ), The Last Date (2018), Chaurassi (2022), Badalti Soch (2018), Scars – That Remain After 100 Years of Jallianwala Bagh Massacre (2019), Silver Lining – The Journey of Rashpal Singh (2022), Lucky Kabootar (2018), Kites Beyond Boundaries(2022 ), Art Finds Its Way(2022), The Tide of Time (2018), and Loneliness(2017).
His repertoire of work includes more than 90 films and programs, acknowledged with 18 awards and 76 Official Selections across Film Festivals globally. His work ranges from films, ad campaigns, television and talk shows, digital features to short films and documentaries. His work for International Film Festivals, State Governments and Social Organizations – NGOs – has helped facilitate a lot of encouragement, funding and awareness for relevant causes. Ojaswwee Sharma’s adeptness in bringing out concerning issues and daunting subject matters planning and directing films and video-driven campaigns across genres, have received encouraging feedback and recognition from audiences and media, globally.
Ojaswwee Sharma is the partner of Pinaka Mediaworks LLP (Leading Film Production House in India), Rolling Frames Entertainment and Rolling Frames Motion Pictures. Ojaswwee Sharma is also the India Head for Sikhlens and Festival Director Sikhlens: Sikh Arts & Film Festival India Chapter that brings world class cinema, showcasing Sikh diaspora, achievements, and oneness to India which is organized each year in February in Chandigarh.
Ojaswwee Sharma believes in promoting fresh talent and has walked the talk through his films, shows, and campaigns by giving opportunity to newcomers from the region.
