Calling all Lovers of the unusual!

Witness this collection of wild, weird, transgressive and experimental short films by A new wave of Local underground filmmakers at the seventh NFU group show. It will be a night of new surrealist, expressionist and abstract shorts where you can meet and discover the next David Lynch or Maya Deren. Come to LA's Arts District to find out what's been brewing in Hollywood's dark dark shadow.

Event will also feature an audience poll, Tyler telling a joke and a mustache balloon.

No awards. No prizes. This is not a competition. Laurels will be given to those selected.

Rules & Terms

Filmmakers MUST be based in the Los Angeles Metro area.

We seek films that are experimental, bizarre or highly unconventional, but more conventional narratives will sometimes be included, especially if they have a low budget or DIY aesthetic.

Films must be 15 min. or less including credits.

Digital submissions only, please.

Filmmakers must have permission from the copyright owner to use any music featured in their film.
