Although sexuality has been the central element of human culture since the dawn of time, it is still subject to censorship, shame and taboos in our society. Accordingly, sexual education is mostly limited to avoiding pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. There are hardly any spaces in which a pleasurable, gender-equal approach to sexuality is conveyed. Film and advertising are often characterized by a stereotypical "male" perspective in which the desire of "women" is pushed into the background and the diverse models of life and love as well as gender identities existing outside the heteronormative are ignored.
However, sexuality is a natural basic need for most people. Our vision is that it can be shown, discussed and expressed without shame and regardless of body shape, gender, sexual orientation and preferences. At the NATURAL INSTINCTS Festival:
- We give a stage to artists who address the naked body and/or our sexuality in their works
- We celebrate the beauty of the human body in all its shapes and forms
- We marvel at the multifaceted nature of human sexuality
- We create a platform to connect and inform in the real world about the taboo ridden topics surrounding sex, body and gender
Art as a universal language is the means of our choice to contribute to the sexual health and education of our society and to ensure a tolerant coexistence without discrimination.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer financial remuneration.
The festival does not cover travel and accommodation costs.
