The best trailers will launch across TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook, reaching audiences throughout the United States.
But this isn’t just about creativity—it’s about impact.
The four trailers that generate the most views and the most Book of Mormon requests will rise to the top and claim the four grand prizes.

SCRIPT
Include this or a similar call to action to click on the link and download or purchase a copy of the Book of Mormon. The call to action could be a voice or a person on camera. It could be you, a professional, an influencer, or anyone who can use their spirit and testimony to persuade the viewer to read the book.

TRAILER TITLE
Titles for social media content should be short, descriptive, and engaging. Three words maximum.

CALL TO ACTION: (REQUIRED)
Videos will be promoted on TicTok and YouTube. In the last 20 seconds of your script, write an engaging Call to Action to motivate the viewer to discover the Book of Mormon by clicking on the link on the screen.

On YouTube, Discover the Book of. Mormon will put a "Click Here" button over the last 20 seconds of your video. This button links to our Amazon Book of Mormon store. Here is a demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkOBHKfiQvY

Videos without the call to action will be disqualified or will be asked to add the call to action.

Videos will be judged by how many copies of the Book of Mormon the trailer drives sales of through click-throughs to our Amazon and/or TikTok Book of Mormon store.

COPYRIGHT
• Footage, graphics, images, recognizable faces, and so forth may not violate copyright laws.
• Personal releases are required for all identifiable faces, and a parent or Guardian signed release for all minor children
• Music copyright and performance clearances
• List of any stock footage clips/images/graphics with clearance information.
• List of Book of Mormon clips from LDS productions. The final use of Church-owned footage will depend on clearances from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which AAF will obtain through proper channels.
• This contest is a private event and not a part of or sanctioned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. LOGOS and graphics of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, may NOT be used; use of these items will immediately disqualify the submission.

Round two entries will be emailed an upload link for a vertical format trailer.

• Videos may be re-edited and re-uploaded any number of times before the submission deadline

DON'T post on social media until the contest is completed or Discovery the Book of Mormon gives approval.

EDIT NOTES
If entrants would like edit notes, Discover the Book of Mormon production team will offer edit notes upon request if the video is uploaded no later than March 15th. Request through the email link on this site.

LOGLINE
Input the logline in the Synopsis section that describes your story. The logline will be used as the trailer description on social media platforms.

AI
AI footage may be created and used as long as it does not violate copyright laws.

AI VOICES
We believe AI voices are not ready for professional trailers. Casting the right voice actor can bring a strong spirit to the piece that an AI voice cannot.

By submitting an entry to the Tad R Callister Book of Mormon Trailer Competition, each participant agrees to comply with the following rule regarding view counts and engagement:
ANY video entry that uses, employs, or benefits from artificial or fraudulent methods to generate views, likes, comments, shares, or other engagement metrics will be immediately disqualified. This includes, without limitation:
· Use of automated systems or bots;
· Paid or incentivized click farms;
· Scripts, browser extensions, or other technical tools designed to artificially inflate views or engagement;
· Any third‑party services that guarantee or advertise “instant” or “fake” views, followers, or engagement.

COMPETITION DISCLAIMER
The Competition organizers reserve the sole and absolute right to investigate any suspected artificial or fraudulent activity and to disqualify any entry they determine, in their discretion, has violated this rule. The organizers’ decisions regarding disqualification are final and binding, and participants waive any claim or cause of action arising out of or related to such decisions.

By entering, participants acknowledge and agree that authentic, organic audience engagement is a fundamental condition of the Competition, and that any attempt to manipulate metrics in violation of these terms may result in disqualification, removal of content from Competition channels, and/or ineligibility for current or future competitions.
