**We have paused our current submissions season of "where to from here," for our new podcast and online program. ** Because we offer free submissions, we are receiving quite a few submissions that do not fall within our eligibility requirements. We are also receiving so many we can't keep up.
Moonplay is an artist-run project supporting women, nonbinary, and trans filmmakers and moving image artists, first and foremost. We screen, promote, and celebrate auteur-driven experimental, documentary, and innovative narrative works.
Due to COVID-19, we are transitioning and hosting "where to from here," a podcast program/online festival with conversations with featured artists and filmmakers. Each participating artist is featured on our website, adding to our roster of supported artists.
We will continue this programming and eventually hold screening events 1- 4 times a year at Dreamland Arts, a 40-seat theater located in St. Paul, Minnesota, when we are able, hopefully in 2022. All submissions will be on file and for consideration for future screenings.

Season Two is currently in production and will release late Fall 2021
Current submissions are in consideration for Season Three which will be released in Spring 2022.
Moonplay is organized and curated by artist and filmmaker, Jes Reyes, the founder of the Altered Esthetics Film Festival. She directed the festival as an official ARTshare program at The Southern Theater for 4 seasons (2014-2017). She has been developing Moonplay Cinema for the last two years, so she is excited to get it off the ground and running.
Moonplay has a Featured Artist program to honor and recognize promising films made by innovative and creative filmmakers.
Exhibiting artists and filmmakers become part of our community and roster.
We promote your involvement and aim to stay connected through an ongoing partnership and an artist registry on our website.
