Welcome to our 4th season!

We love monochrome film and really wanted to create a short film festival showcasing some of the best works from around the world.
There's just something about the choices made when mixing the shades of a single colour and bringing it to life on screen. It really highlights the art of storytelling, cinematography and lighting in its purest form.

Alongside the film competition will be a short script contest.

The work will be reviewed by seasoned industry professionals, including guest judges. From award winners to veterans of their respective crafts. We want your projects to be successful, and that's why we're handpicking our judges, people who will review your work with the care and respect it deserves.

The event will be held in the amazing Whirled Cinema in Brixton, London in November.

It will be a great chance to network with other industry professionals, enjoy a night of great films, sit back and enjoy refreshments while you watch the big screen!

We know how expensive filmmaking can be and have kept our prices as low as possible in consideration of the filmmaking and writing community.

Film award winners will receive a statuette on the night and certificates will be emailed.
Script award winners will receive certificates by email.

The only film festival I've come across so far that requests posters for the promotion of the selected screenplays! Thrilled to have my short animation script "The Nature of the Beast" featured on their website, thank you! Great Communication and good value, will enter again.

  • Margaret Dane

Very pleased to have been a finalist and won my category in this new and remarkble festival. The communication was great, which can be patchy with other festivals. My experience with them was top notch. Filmmakers and scriptwriters will not be disappointed with Monochrome Film Festival.

  • Thanks for selecting 'Wonderland' as a Finalist for the short script part of the festival. It was kind of you to say it was 'really funny' and gave me a much needed boost.
