Overall Rating

Very happy to received an Director award for The Appartment.
The festival is very well organized and I appreciated all along the process the quality of your communication. The festival offers both a broadcast via the Altcineplex streaming platform, and a screening at the Chrysalis theater in which I unfortunately was not able to participate. Long live the festival.

Thanks Sarah for your lovely review & rating...... means a lot for us.
All the best for future endeavours.

  • No communication back from the festival staff. My film was part of the official selection, but the website didn't allow me to upload even after several tries and reformatting of my film codec. I tried contacting the festival several times as well, but no reply - unfortunately a waste of the entry fee and my efforts. Hopefully they sort out their communication for any future potential submissions. Given my experience, I'll not be submitting to this festival again and wouldn't recommend. It's a shame, especially given the other reviews seem to be generally positive - unfortunately that wasn't the case for me.

    Response from festival:

    Dear Jake,
We are sorry to hear that you were not able to upload your film on ALTCineplex. This is to kindly inform you that your film was reviewed by the judges and was also nominated for the category of “Best Editing, Short Film (English)”. You will soon receive Certificate and Laurels through email.
In regard to your email, unfortunately we haven’t received the same. We have helped few participants by uploading their films on their behalf. We would have assisted you if we had received your email. Few filmmakers contacted us through messages at Messenger & Twitter.
If you are still interested in publishing your film on ALTCineplex, please let us know, we would love to help you.
Once again, we apologise for the inconvenience held and we trust that your submission and fee has not gone wasted.
We would like to have you again and best wishes for your future projects.

    Kind regards
    Team MKIFF

It was lovely to receive notification just before Christmas, that our film would be screened at your festival.

Thankfully with living in London, we were able to pop over. Apologies we couldn't attend the screenings, it was just too short notice.

The festival was one of the best attended and everyone was so welcoming. Thankyou again for your hospitality and our awards!
